then you have a incompatibility issue or the vga card has a defect thats why you are encountering these problems if you nvidia works properly then theres a problem with ati if its newly bought take it back to the store for replacement or have them check it and tell them what problems it gives you
This one is pretty clear. Your machine is a June, 2004 model. Your video RAM is bad. Video RAM is not user-replaceable on the Radeon 9800 XT, so you will have to replace the Radeon card itself.
Can you pleasr post more information on when how this was started I had this problem once with bootcamp but now it was resolved. Can you still get in somewhere?
I have the same card and many of the same issues. I got an RMA number and had to contact ATI after "Clear Business Days" to get a status report. Having finally gotten a response, I find out that it will be 10 to 12 WEEKS before the card comes back.
Knowing what I know now, I would not purchase this card again.
