Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook
If you have nVidia graphics in your laptop (check the model number on the label attached to the bottom of your notebook and look it up at hp.com), then the motherboard has failed. This is a very common failure unfortunately.
But you may qualify for the free replacement program, i know there is one but i don't rember exactly which models it applied to. Give HP an e-mail or call their support line and they will tell you if it applies.

Right about the warranty, however only good if your system is less than 2years old. You can check out the DIY repair guide at www.bootmylaptop.com You need to reflow the GPU(graphic chip)
