I have some GENERIC suggestions, but as I work on competitor products, I am not familar with the specfics of your machine. So this may or may not help. If something in this post doesn't match up with what you see, disregard it.

Generally speaking paper jam messages are generated because the sensors in the machine either see paper when the should not, or DON'T see paper when they should. "Ghost" jams are usually caused by two things: either the paper is not feeding properly from the paper tray or a sensor is "confused" because it is bad, broken, or covered by a small piece of paper.

If the machine indicates a jam in an area of the paper path close to the paper tray, it is likely that paper is not feeding from the tray at all. If you have an alternate paper source, such as a second tray or a bypass, try feeding from that source. If you are successful, the problem is probably misfeeds from the tray that doesn't work.

In that case, inspect the feed components in the tray (feed rolls or feed tires as the case may be). See if anything looks out of place. Sometimes feed tires can twist or slip and can be put back into the proper position. If the machine has two similar trays, you might be able to compare the two. If you can, remove the tray and see if you can locate the actuator for the paper empty switch. (It will probably be a plastic lever hanging free to ride on the top of the paper stack.) VERY CAREFULLY (you don't want to break or dislodge anything) tape the lever up in place (to fool the machine into thinking there is paper in the tray) and then inspect the feed components while you attempt to make a copy. (Be sure the tray you are watching is selected as your paper source.) If the feed components turn, you probably have to replace the rolls or tires. If not, it may be that a feed clutch or solenoid is not working.

If you cannot get a successful feed from any source, you may have a sensor problem. This might be a bad sensor, a broken actuator or a very small piece of paper stuck on a sensor. This latter problem happens when someone pulls out a jam. The paper tears on the sensor actuator and leaves a small piece in the sensor. Look around the area where the jam is indicated and see if you can find the sensor actuator. It will be a small plastic "finger" or lever (it may only be a few millimeters) typically with a small spring on it. BE CAREFUL not to dislodge or break it. See if there might be a small piece of paper (it, too, may be just a few millimeters) on it or anywherer else in the paper path. If you see something, carefully remove it with tweezers or a similar tool. Again, be very careful not to break or dislodge the actuator. If an actuator is dislodged, you may be able to pop it back in place, but if the small spring has fallen off, it might get tricky. The end result is that the actuator should move freely and spring back into place.

The truth is, unless you see something obviously out of place, or you are exceptionally mechanically inclined, it is probably best to get a service tech in. Again, these are generic tips, but I hope they give you some help. Good luck!

How do i clear paper jam after tearing half of the paper leaving other piece locked inside machine?

IF the jammed paper tears and you cannot remove the paper either from the paper output slot or from the transport unit, or the jammed paper remains inside the machine, remove the paper following the procedure below. 1. Turn off the machine, and unplug the power cord of the machine from the power supply. 2. Open the paper output cover. Remove the paper on the front tray if any.
Important:
Do not touch the clear film (A). If the paper or your hands touch these parts and blot or scratch them, the machine can be damaged.

3. Make sure that the FINE cartridge holder does not hang over the paper. If the FINE cartridge holder hangs over the paper, move the FINE cartridge holder to the right edge or the left edge whichever is easier to remove the paper. When you move the FINE cartridge holder, hold the FINE cartridge holder and slide it slowly to the right edge or the left edge.
4. Hold the jammed paper with your hands.
If the edge of paper is jammed near the paper output slot, pull the edge of paper to the position where you can hold it with your hands.
5. Pull the paper slowly not to tear it, then pull the paper out.

6. Make sure that all the jammed paper is removed. If the paper is torn, a piece of paper may remain inside the machine. Check the following and remove the piece of paper if it remains.
7. Close the paper output cover, then reload the paper.
All print jobs in the queue are canceled. Reprint if necessary.

Canon ir2016 jams papers under registration clutch. the clutch runs on power up but does not run when copig or printing help

This seems to be a common problem for the Canon ir 20 xx series machines. The problem is having machine indicating paper jams on the left hand side of the machine. When you open the left cover you do sometimes find paper stuck on entering the fuser unit. The main problem, and loads of these machines with these problems have been fixed, are the half moon pickup rollers! Clean the pickup rollers or even better, replace them and you will get the machine working 100%!! To confirm this try copying from the machine using the manual feed tray. You will never get a paper jam. This fault is due to incorrect pickup resulting in timing problem and thus getting paper jams! Good luck!

Canon c7055 jammed

if you already checked & opened all the door then probably there is none. try flicking the sensor flag, usually its broken or maybe not moving freely as it should. all in all if you're absolutely sure those flags are ok then most probably its the main pcb's fault.

Hello My machine is Canon iR2016 and i have problem with Paper Jam. I have problem when I copying more then one copy and i got a problem sometimes in the first 10 copys, sometime at 20th copy... Error...

Hello,
so, first, did you clean the vertical path roller? ( its a axis with two rollers beneath the paper registration sensor )
Second, when you open left cover, and paper guide plastic cover ( black ) there is also sensor flapper, that can be a quite of pain because slow reaction of spring on it. Apply wd40 on its spring and in left corner where he lays into bushing. To check flapper response, manually close the paper guide plastic, the sensor must be in middle position.
Also it can be the problem in paper pick up clutch and it needs to be cleaned or replaced.
But, also the problem can be separation claws in cassette ( metal claws that holds the paper ). From experience, the probably is sensor flapper or pick up clutch the problem.

Hope that helps!

It showing error paper is jammed , but there is no paper in there

Hello, you may have a piece of paper (even a small piece) lost in the printer. Please lift the covers and remove any paper trays. Use a flashlight if you can and carefully look for any paper stuck anywhere inside the paper feed paths, where paper goes in our out of the machine. If you need help on how to open up the machine, Canon has info on their web-site or the "easy setup guide" that came with it to show how things open.

If this is not the problem you may need to reset the machine to clear the error. Unplug the machine and leave sit overnight (worst case only if needed).
