Question about Pentax K10D Body Only Digital Camera

1 Answer

My camera doesn't shoot anymore.

My Pentax K10 doesn't shoot anymore. It sounds like obstructed when i push the button. All the other parts are working as usual. There was any knock on the body. I took some pictures on the beach and it happened on the last shot.

Could anyone help me?
I don't know if this is gonna cost me more than buy a new one.
Thanks.

Photo's on the beach, camera obstructed? Could it be you got sand in your camera? Didyou change your lens while on (or near to) the beach? Sand in your shutter can obstruct the shutter in that case the camera has to be cleanded i don't know what the costs are for a cleaning of the body.

Hi Noodle
One of Pentax's strengths is that that you can use lenses from the late 1960s on them (via an adaptor). However, I'm assuming that you have a bayonet fitting lens - but as you say 'my manual pentax' could it be that they are not autofocus lenses?
If autofocus is switched on and you have a manual focus lens, you have to have something in focus in order for the shutter to fire. (with no lens fitted it doesn't seem to matter). Switch the camera to manual focus (where you can shoot out-of-focus stuff) and see if the problem is still there.
If it is then it spounds as though there is something amiss with the camera to lens coupling.

Hi I need more information. After pushing release button, you will hear motor running sound---like mirror goes up and down and takeup spool running sound. I want to try more. First remove lens and set M mode. Push release button. You will see mirror up/down and motor running sound. If you can see these thing, then you have defective camera. Let me know more detail. thanks and best regard!

How to set timer on pentax k10

The manual for the K10 is available at

http://www.pentaximaging.com/files/product/K10D_Manual.pdf

pp.77-79 details operation of the self-timer.

Basically, use the "Fn" button to bring up the menu. Press up on the four-way controller to select Drive Mode. Then you have two self-timer options. The first sets up a 12-second delay. The second is a 2-second delay.

Unfortunately, the manual offers no other method for setting a self-timer time.

If you are talking about date and time, that starts on p.56 in the manual. Basically, enter the menu system in Playback mode, choose Set-up, choose Custom setting, then select the Date setup option. There are a series of options there for formatting and setting the day, month, year, hour, and minutes.

Can't take pictures.

Guest,

pentax codes are in repair manuals, not instruction manuals. H3 indicates shutter failure. this means anything from the flex circuit on the zoom barrel ( inside ) to the shutter itself. camera needs repaired.

How can I rewind film in a Pentax Zoom 60-X camera

I used to use point and shoot film cameras. My guess is that there is a button underneath which when you depress will automatically rewind the film. Sometimes the button is very small that you may need a ballpen point to press it. Hope this helps cuz i have no idea what the Pentax Zoom looks like. I am guess it is a point an shoot type and not an SLR. If it is a point and shoot type, you must be sure the battery has power or else it won't rewind.

Date time

If the display is on ,yes, just push the SET button and the date / time will blink untile it's set.
If no display is on, the battery for the settings must be replaced. this is located near the pressure plate on the camera film door. ( inside )
