Step 1 Unplug the Kenmore washer power cord from the electrical outlet on the wall. Move the washer away from the back wall by about two feet so that you can work behind it. Turn the water supply off to the washer by turning the shut-off valves off at the wall.

  • Step 2 Place a bucket directly under the water hose connections at the rear of the washer. Use a pair of pliers to loosen the hose connections from the water inlet valves. Once the hose connections are loose, you can unscrew the connections by hand and place the ends of the hoses in the bucket.
  • Step 3 Remove the retaining screws that secure the control console to the washer top with a Phillips-head screwdriver. The single screw is at each end of the control console on the front of the console. Lift the console up and over to rest the console in the service position.
  • Step 4 Insert the blade of a flathead screwdriver into the slots at the rear of the top panel that contain the brass clip securing the top panel to the rear panel. Push the handle of the screwdriver toward the rear of the washer to pop the brass clip out of the top panel.
  • Step 5 Disconnect the door switch wiring harness at the top rear center of the washer cabinet. Grab the door switch wiring harness with your finger to pull the harness of the door switch block. Place your hands on each side of the washer cabinet and pull the cabinet away far enough to access the water inlet valve on the left side of the rear panel.
  • Step 6 Disconnect the wires connecting to the water inlet valve using a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the wires off by the metal leads. Use a pair of pliers to compress the tabs on the compression clamp securing the hose to the water inlet valve and pull the clamp away from the water port. Pull the hose off of the water inlet valve.
  • Step 7 Go to the outside rear of the washer and remove the two screws securing the water inlet valve to the rear panel with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the water inlet valve out of the rear panel. Set the new Kenmore washer inlet valve into the rear panel and secure the valve with the two retaining screws.
  • Step 8 Slip the hose over the water port on the inside of the rear panel and secure the hose to the water inlet valve with the compression clamp. Attach the wires to the water inlet valve by slipping the leads over the valve terminals.
  • Step 9 Position the washer cabinet back over the washer base and against the rear panel. Snap the brass retaining clips into the slots on the top of the washer to secure the cabinet to the rear panel. Reconnect the door switch wiring harness.
  • Step 10 Pull the front of the control console back down on top of the washer. Secure the control console to the top of the Kenmore washer with the retaining screws. Wrap plumber's tape around the threads of the water inlet valve and attach the water supply hoses to the valve. Tighten the hoses using a pair of pliers.
  • Step 11 Turn the water supply back on to the washer and plug the washer power cord into the wall outlet. Push the washer back into its normal working position.

  • If that does not work please give me the model # so I can help you more.

Water keeps running and the ice maker isn't making ice

The ice maker will not make ice with the water running in contently this keeps the water temp to high. Turn machine off, cut water supply off to machine, remove water inlet valve, ether take valve apart and rebuild it or replace the water inlet valve. Reassemble in reverse order and machine should make ice.

failure of the inlet valve. You can find this in the inlet pipe section, remove and check if dirt had accumulated to jam the valve. If not the valve is faulty and must be replaced.

Why is my machine flashing a tap sign and stopping?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
Turn off the water at the wall connection and remove the water hoses from the inlet water valve. Remove the inlet screens and wash them under slowly running water by rubbing your fingers over them. Reinstall the inlet screens and re-connect the water hoses to the machine. Remove the hoses at the wall connection and make sure the installer has not installed inlet screens on the hoses. If there are inlet screens on the hoses also clean the inlet screens. Then reconnect the hoses.. turn on the water and test for leaks then test the machine.

This should get you going unless you have relly low water pressure in the home.

    Thanks for choosing FixYa,
    Kelly

My washing machine model: Fuzzy Logic WFT10C31EP. Problem: When I start the machine, water does not fall into the tub although water pressure from the source is excellent. Only spin is...

It sounds like the water inlet valve is not functioning like it should. It is supposed to open to allow water to flow in when the Control Board gives the signal to open. First, try cleaning the Water Inlet Valve Filter. Turn the water supply off and remove the Water Supply Hoses. You will see the filter inside the Valve. Clean it out, and reconnect the hoses. Try washing again. If no water flows into the machine, you will need to replace the Inlet Valve/s. Try running an empty wash with just cold water, and then try running an empty wash with just hot water. If neither are working, you may have a control board fault. If only one side works, replace that sides water inlet valve.

Water continues to run into the washing machine through the whole wash cycle and even when the machine is off. I have to keep the tape turned off. other than that the washing machine functions normally.

Hi Welcome to FixYa I am Kelly. You have debris inside your water inlet valve. You can try to clean it by doing the following:

    - First remove both hoses from the water inlet valve and remove the inlet screens of the water valve.
(Use a knife blade on the outer part of the screens to remove them from the water valve)
    - Connect both hoses to the water inlet valve without the inlet screens.
    - Connect ONE hose to the wall faucet
    - Place ONE hose in a bucket

SELECT WARM WASH and start wash fill

Water should flow into the washer and the bucket. Use the handle of a screwdriver and tap the hose connections of the inlet water valve for about 20 seconds. (your trying to free the debris from the inlet water valve diaphram)

    Stop Fill

Reverse Hose connection at the wall.... i.e. hook up other hose and disconnect the one you had connected. Place the hose you disconnected from the wall into the bucket.

    START warm fill

Water should flow into the washer and the bucket. Use the handle of a screwdriver and tap the hose connections of the inlet water valve for about 20 seconds. (your STILL trying to free the debris from the inlet water valve diaphrams)

    STOP FILL

    - Connect hose to wall connection
    - WASH the inlet screens under slowly running water until both sides are clean
    - Remove hoses from the water inlet valve and install the inlet screens.
    - Reconnect hoses and turn on water supply

    TEST HOT and COLD fill

Turn off machine.... IF the debris was freed the water flow will stop when the machine is turned off.

If this flushing attempt does not correct your constant water flow the remedy is to replace the water inlet valve on your washer.

I can help with locating parts ON-Line but will need your model number to help you should you require a water valve.

Hopefully you are able to clear the debris by doing the above. (50 - 50 chance of it working)

    Thanks for Choosing FixYa,
    Kelly

How do you replace the mixing valve on a kenmore series 80

Water Inlet (Mixing) Valve Replacement Procedure
    1. Safety first. Unplug the machine.
    2. Shut off the water supply valve.
    3. Place a bucket or pan under the water inlet valve to catch residual water from the fill hoses.
    4. Remove the fill hoses from the water inlet valve then drain the residual water into the bucket or pan.
    5. Remove the screws holding the console at the back of the machine. On some models, the screws are hidden under the console's removable end caps. To remove, pull the top of the end caps to the front of the machine. On some models, the console is secured to the machine by clips under the front corners of the console. Use a putty knife and insert it's blade under the front corners of the console then push it until the clips are released.
    6. Lift the console then flip it towards the back of the machine.
    7. Disconnect the lid switch wiring harness connector from the body of the machine.
    8. Lift the lid, grab the front rim of the cabinet, not the tub, then rock the cabinet to the front of the machine and pull it all the way.
    9. Remove the screws holding the water inlet valve to the back of the machine.
    10. Move the clamp holding the inlet hose to the water inlet valve to remove it.
    11. Install the new water inlet valve and reassemble the cabinet and the console in reverse of the disassembly steps given above.
Feel free to ask for further assistance if necessary.

Front Load Washing Machine Filling On It's Own

the inlet valves are shot. what happens the coils in the inlet vales can no longer hold the water from going into the unit, causing water to run into unit when not in use. replace the inlet valves and you should be good to go. the inlet valves can be removed by, removing top panel(3screws in back), disconnecting hoses, taking the small clamp on the small hose connected to the dispenser. theirs a small screw holding the inlet valves from back pane, remove old inlet valves and replace and you should be all set. hope it helps.

    Kenmore washer continully runs

Hello Friend, Your problem is easily solved. You need to replace the water inlet valve. It's easy to replace the water inlet valve on your machine. First, remove the two screws that hold control panel in place and tilt back exposing the two metal clips that hold the cabinet in place. You will see some wires plugged into the cabinet, just unplug them. There are two clips, one on each side. Just pop these clips off and lift cabinet slightly from back and tilt forward. At this point you will be able to completely remove the cabinet. Once you have cabinet removed just set it aside. Now, you will be able to gain access to the water inlet valve. Simply remove the hose and wires from valve and replace with new one. Re-install the cabinet, control panel etc. This should solve your problem. Happy to help, Tim.
