In the screen section after remove the front plastic around the LCD you will see some screws holding the LCD display in place. Sometimes these get loose over time. If you can locate and remove the screws " usually under little pads or stickers " and pull off the plastic case around the LCD screen " usually held on by some clips as well " you will easily have access to the hinge screws from there just tighten them down and make sure there no broken off the housing for the screen. Then place the front panel back on and screw is back on and you should be good to go again,

How do I fix lid on HP Pavilion M6-1009TX notebook laptop ?

In this case, i recommend you to bring your laptop to any service centres around and ask for part replecement.

Yes, the hinges are loose. It is a well known issues for laptop users. Frequent opening and closing behaviour can cause the wear and tear effect become even more apparent.

But if you really want to do it by yourself, then you should prepare a few things.

1) The hinges specifically for your model.
2) Set of screwdrivers for your laptop
3) Another laptop / tablet/ phone that can be used while you open up the laptop.

From there, you can search the youtube for hinge replacement. Take note of the number of parts and screws you took out. Opening it would be easy but putting it back in place is hell of a mess. Take a note and be organized while doing it. We don't want the keyboard to be loose after this wouldn't we?

Good luck.

Loose Monitor on a HP Pavilion ZV6233nr Laptop

It seems that some screw that was loose is now totally out of socket. The latch assembly might be disbalanced due to that. To me it doesn't seem to be a broken latch.

I just started getting this problem myself. I'll let you know if I find a solution. For the time being, I'm pinching the joint with my fingers as hard as I can when I open or close it.

My ibm thinkpad key ""Q" came loose

You have to work with it and don't be scared of it. If you easily take another one off you will see how it goes on. It is a puzzle. You might want to take it to a shop because you can't replace single key's. Not that I have found anyway.
