Can you help me with vapor lock for a Craftsman LT1000? The problem is the tractor runs out of fuel after 20 minutes. Has new gas cap, new fuel lines, cleaned carborator and the fuel solenoid seems to be working - any solutions or suggestions please.

Hello.
Your tractor needs a vented gas cap. Get the correct gas cap and you will not be getting a vapor lock. Joe

Put a new coil in my craftsman Lt1000 still have

Try leaving the fuel cap loose, its possible you have a blocked fuel cap vent which can be cleaned with compressed air. Also if it still dies, check to see if you have spark while its hot. Also check for correct valve clearances. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

Mower engine cuts out at exactly 1/2 full tank of gas

When that happens loosen the fuel cap and see if it stays running. If this is a gravity feed system make sure you have the correct fuel filter on it,the clear paper filters can allow vapor lock to happen, put the small briggs and stratton filter in it,which has a small chamber and a stainless screen. Also make sure there is no excess fuel line that would cause a dip or a high spot for a vapor lock to occur.

Sue your brother is right! I had the same problem and it turned out to be the gas cap. the small breather hole on the top was plugged with dirt. once I cleaned it out I took the rubber gasket out from the bottom of the cap and cleaned that as well. runs great now.

This sounds too easy of a solution but I had a like ptroblem with my Craftsman. I loosed the gas cap a bit and the rough running and stalling stopped. he vent on the gas cap that contains a turn over interrupt valve was plugged causing the gas not to flow. I took the cap apart and cleaned out the vent hole though cleaning the holewith a paper clip would have worked as well. Anyway..it fixed my problem. I think my dirty hands of deris deposited the matera in the vent hole when filling with gas.
