Make sure that the LG PC suite and the LG Viewty are both on COM 8. If one of them has a different COM port, they will never communicate with each other. There should be a setting on the phone and on the PC suite to change the COM port.
Aside from that, refer to the user manual of your phone to see if it requires a server settings. If it does, verify the correct server settings for the phone, and put it to the server settings field in your PC suite.
If same problem occur, try different USB cable or contact the manufacturer to test the phone.
