Question about Visual Land VNet VL760 Netbook

Can't turn on my VL760 netbook. It just "initializes."

I just received my new VL760 netbook. When I turned it on per the manual, instead of booting up, it displayed a Windows screen and the message "System initializing, please wait ...". This stayed up for a couple of hours without changing. I could not turn the machine off using the on/off button. I finally turned it off with the manual reset feature. All my attempts to start it result in the same thing. How do I turn on my netbook?

As you mentioned the problem is above your control and it is hardware related issue, kindly go to the authorized service center, as it is a new net book don't do anything to you may loose your warranty.
Thank you.

Bought one of these about 2 months ago. Thought it would be a good way to store photo and music files, What a mistake that was... For the past 2 weeks all I've had is the Windows CE "System Initializing, please wait" screen. Can't even shut it off. So it sits...initializing!

Looked to the retailer who I bought it from (PC Richard). All sales final and they can't do anything as far as repairs. This site has advised returning it to a repair center. Problem with that is WHERE. Manual has no address. Visual-Land's website has no address although they say they are located in Southern California. Uh Huh. Sure. Must be a provence in China named Southern California! If any one has any idea on how to boot this thing up let me know. Thinking about getting our states Attorney General involved....after all he's on his way to the Senate so probably not afraid to ruffle a few feathers somewhere.

When the V-Net actually does boot, it normally takes about one or two minutes. Anything longer than that and you need to reset the machine. There is a hole in the bottom of the V-Net marked RESET that you can press with a thumbtack and the screen will go black, then you can press the on button again. I have noticed that the unit will not come on correctly until it has warmed up so I leave it at initializing for a few minutes before I start the reset/restart sequence. This machine is not a very good unit, it does let you view webpages (limited), pictures (limited) and low compressed movies (limited) and not a lot else. There are some programs installed but do very little.

  1. Turn on the Netbook Start up the Netbook as usual, but instead of watching it load, immediately press the F2 key until the Setup Utility screen appears.
  2. Disable the Boot Booster Use the arrows to select the Boot tab. Click the Boot Booster option, then press Enter to disable it. Move to the last tab, then select Exit and Save Changes.
  3. Restart the Netbook Restart the Netbook, and press and hold F9 as the computer restarts until you see the loading screen. Click the "?" key to confirm when a message appears asking if you want to perform the operation.
  4. Wait as the process completes Do nothing as the restore process starts and completes. No human interaction is needed to finish the process. The computer reboots on its own and makes new configurations. The computer then automatically restarts again. At this point, the computer is now fully restored to its factory settings.

When it turn on it turns on when I click internet it won't go to the home page it says it can't find the server or dns

This could be many things but most likely its a trojan that has took over. I would suggest that you boot up in safe mode with networking. To do this reboot computer and while it is trying to boot up press F8 several times it will bring you to a screen that ask if you want to boot normal or safe mode or safe mode with networking SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING IS THE ONE YOU WANT. try to get on the internet once it has booted up in safe mode if you can get on the internet go to www.filehippo.com and download malware bytes. Update the program and then run the quick scan. After you have finished that download ccleaner at the same web site and run the cleaner then run its registry cleaner. Then boot up normal.

Initializing wong go further

Hi,

I think the problem is the operating system on your system, i think it is corrupt, i will advice you reinstall the operating system on your system, if you are unable to reinstall the operating system, it means the hard drive is bad, you will need to replace the hard drive.

Take care.
