Hi, there's two possible issues but you have to figure out what is happening. Does the ice maker continue to make ice forever and would fill up the whole freezer section in time OR does the ice maker just "over make" ice that overfills the bin which then falls out? If the ice maker just keeps making ice you need the motor module replaced but if it can be turned off by moving the lever up then you need the "modified lever assy."

Take care

There is no trouble with the ice maker. it is working just right.

the problem is that it continues to dispense ice when you close the freezer door, meaning the motor that drives the cam-drive starts and pushes the ice towards the spout in the front. Obviously nothing comes out of the spout in the front, because the door on the spout is shut. all this is happening without pressing the Ice actuator

So this is what i have done thus far...I open the front cover where the ice and water dispenser is. there are 2 boards one attached to the cover and the 2nd attached to the freezer door, and there is ribbon cable connecting the 2 boards. i disconnected the ribbon cable from the board attached to the cover and then turned on the unit. this has stopped continuous dispensing of the ice.

Hope this helps you a bit more towards diagnosing the problem

    Thanks

Hi, to stop ice production, raise the ice maker shut off arm until you hear a click and the arm stays in the up position. The ice maker will remain off until the shut off arm is pushed down.
The shut off arm is designed to automatically stop ice production when the ice bin is full.

    Take care

Hey friend, thank you for your inquiry!

From my understanding you were replacing the water dispenser on your Frigidaire refrigerator and the ribbon cable disconnected. I would suggest a generic search online for any additional information regarding the ribbon cable. I was unable to locate that information for you. Additionally, if you continue to have problems I would consult with a professional technician for proper attachment of the cable. Best of luck! -Matt

Hi there.Got any tips on my fridge making ice but not despensing it through the door it is dead not a sound. However it is putting out water. thanks

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the dispenser, on your Electrolux refrigerator, is dispensing water but not ice. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Sometimes there can be a miscommunication between the different boards inside your appliance. Restore power and try to get ice out of the dispenser. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. If further troubleshooting is needed, please leave me your model number, so I am able to better assist. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Start by looking at the circuit boards for any sign of cracks or a trace coming off the board. Also, check all the ribbon wires for any signs of a break, corrosion, and so on. As soon as my database comes back online I will look to see if I have a service manual for that unit and any test procedures that you may do. Also, look at the door switch for any shorts or wire breakage. Post back any results to me.

No, the circuit board mounted inside the ice dispenser on the door has no control over the defrost mode. Furthermore, the problem you appear to be having is not with the defrost system, rather the compressor attempting to start, but failing. This could be caused by a bad compressor, or a bad compressor start kit failure. Again, neither of these could be caused by an issue with the control board for the ice/water dispenser.

My kenmore started dispensing ice and water for no reason. After unplugging, I removed the cover from ice/water dispenser and discovered a burnt circuit board. Leave the board unplugged until you can obtain a good circuit board.

Light will not shut off where the ice dispenser is on maytag rerigator model msd24546rq could anyone help

Hi. This will be the cause of a faulty switch. This light switch is an integrated part of the dispenser control circuit board. This will require you, or your service tech to replace the entire dispenser/ice maker control board. It will be located just behind the dispenser fascia, mounted on a bracket. the actual light switch circuit is mounted on this board.

NOTE_ I would advise to shutdown this unit for five minutes. Simply unplug the unit for this length of time. This will reset the board, and possibly, fix this fault if it is not to severe. If the shutdown dose not correct the switch action, simply replace the dispenser/switch control circuit board.

Open the freezer door. Pull the ice bin OUT and then push it back IN until it locks in place. They will "jump the track" at times, causing crushed ice regardless of the settings. Look under the ice bin. You will see a metal rod it goes inside a yoke in the back of the freezer. Make sure it is inside, not under or over the yoke.

Ice and water dispenser stopped working

Welcome to the computer world. When depressed, the paddle actuates a switch attached to the bracket above. The switch sends a low voltage signal to a small circuit board mouted right behind the display. A computer chip on that small board communicates with another chip on the main control board mounted in the rear wall. Your situation could be a bad actuator switch, a broken paddle tab, possibly a bad door switch (the fresh food doors must be closed to dispense), or a bad electronic control.

A week ago I discovered the fridge part was not cooling but the freezer part seemed fine. I emptied the fridge and turned off to defrost. The top part of the freezer was heavily encased in ice (evaporate coils I think). After perusing the web for advice I removed the the front vent, the back wall and dropped the coil panel to access the fan. The fan had obviously not been working for some time cos it was covered in ice. I defrosted the whole fridge for 2 days. Turned it back on and the freezer part seems fine although v cold. The fridge seems not to be cooling again. The compressor seems to be constantly running. Current temps are fridge 12, freezer -25, ambient 16. I haven't got anything in the freezer yet. Thermostat set on 1 (1-6 setting). How is the fridge cooled? When I removed the evap panel I could not see how cold air gets to the fridge. There aren't any holes in the fridge so I am assuming the back panel should be cooled. If the thermostat is u/s would the compressor still run? Does the thermostat control any duct vv from freezer to fridge back panel? I attempted to remove some of the insulation from the fridge rear but was worried about cutting anything under it so abandoned that. Wife now giving me grief. Pse help. Andy
