Question about Frigidaire Washing Machines

1 Answer

No water (cold or hot) will go into the washer on the wash cycle, although cold water will go into the wash when it's placed on the rinse cycle, thereby ruling out problems with a kinked or plugged supply hose. I think that it needs a new controller. I have a service tech on the way over and he says he'll check "voltages and such", but won't have a controller with him. "He'd have to come back for that if that is what the problem is". What is your opinion? This is a front load stack washer Frigidaire model LTF530FSO.

Hi,

You are correct that this is most likely a control board issue. It could also be an issue with the inlet solenoid for the hot side or the thermistor that senses the water temperature. These smart machines have to sense the water on both sides and the temperature prior to completing a fill for wash. I would suggest letting the tech come out and at minimum make a diagnosis from his readings, some issues can really be hard to diagnose without being in front of the machine.

Although its difficult to say the problem may not be caused by the amount of water but the water temperature.
Most often rinse tempertaure is cold only, however the wash might be warm /hot. A great place to start would be when the machine is filling in wash watch the connectons from the taps to the machine for any leaks in the hoses or connections.

Hope it helps.

Cold fill washing machines

If your washer is the type that all rinses are in cold water only this would make sense that in the winter months when the water is at it's coldest the clothes will feel cold after the spin cycle.
If your washer has a warm rinse cycle and when you select the warm rinse option the clothes feel cold after the spin, then maybe the hot water supply line is plugged.I recommend disconnecting the hot water hose at the back of the washer and check the screen that is at the fill valve on the washer and make sure it isn't clogged with sediment or calcium build up or any other foreign material that would keep the hot water from entering the washer. If all is well there, suspect either the water temp selector switch or the hot water fill valve. Good luck !

Cold water is not filling machine when place on cold washer cycle

Some washing machines allow cold water to enter only during certain cycles. Others intermittently allow hot and cold to enter, to temper the temperature of the water. Consult your owner's manual if you are unsure about whether the machine is acting abnormally. If you're sure the machine is not working the way it used to--or should--check the following. Is the cold water turned on? If not, turn it on. Is the washer getting hot water but no cold water? If so, check to see if the control panel settings are correct. Is there cold water coming through the proper hose? If not, check to see if the screen inside the water-inlet valve is clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If it's clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, you need to replace the valve.

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

Cold water will not stop filling during rinse

while the unit is filling in the warm cycle. reach behind and shut off the hot water tap.I bet the water flow stops filling, if so, you would need to change the inlet valve on the machine. You see, in warm, if the cold is not filling, you still hear the hot filling and the unit will advance. The rinse cycles are mostly "cold" only. if the valve is not opening it will not allow it to advance from the rinse section on the board.

Good luck!
