Question about Fujitsu Heating & Cooling

4 Answers

I have a Fujitsu ASU9RMLQ (or 12RM or 18RM. That is what the manual states). The green timer light blinks twice every ten seconds on the indoor units in both rooms. The manual says to cancel the timer in timer mode. However, the lights continue to blink. I'm hoping this is the reason the outdoor unit is not operating. Any ideas? Thank you!

Okay, I did what you asked. It didn't work. When I turned the unit back on, the timer light continues to blink twice every 10 seconds. What can I try next?

Thank you for your suggestions. The compressor is not working. Do you have any idea why the timer light would blink twice every 10 seconds? There is nothing in the owner's manual regarding this and was hoping if I could get the light off, the compressor would work. I have set the thermostat to the coldest setting and still no compressor working, while the indoor unit's fan does blow. This is just wierd.

    Hello Ginko:

Yes, I did disconnect everything to try to "reboot" everything. What I really would like to find out is: What does it mean when the timer light (on the inside unit) blinks twice every 10 seconds? Couldn't that be some error code? There has to be a reason that it doesn't get cancelled/reset. And, if so, could that be the reason the outdoor unit does not come on? Thanks!

Hi.

Did you try tripping the main circuit breaker to reset the whole system?

Disconnect power and wait about ten minutes. This will drain power completely resetting the system electronics.

Let us know as it goes.

Hi, if no cold blowing and evaporator is not working, have you ever heard compressor is running, check this out, no compression of course you don't have cool on evaporator. If the compressor is running check the operating current, if still have enough freon charge, if not running check thermostat reset setting on the coldest, if still not run check overload relay on panel control reset lever to put back compressor to run, check condensing fan if working, if not check also over load protection, this should be done by ac technician.

Take care

Hello. Unplug each unit or turn off the circuit breakers that supply each unit with power. Leave them off for 5 minutes and then power them up again. This will reset them and cancel the timers. Joe

FUJITSU Inverter wall mounted split air conditioner Model : AST12LSBCW not working, flashing lights

This is a "PFC circuit abnormal" in the outdoor unit meaning that the outdoor controller board is faulty. Try turning the machine off at the isolator switch for 10 mins, then back on to see if the error resets. If not you will need a new controller PCB.

Error code timer light blinks twice

Depending on the model, this usually means "Serial signal (reverse) error at start up" which means that the indoor unit is not receiving a response from the outdoor unit when it tries to "talk" to it. It can be several causes but In my experience, it is usually the outdoor controller board. Again, depending on the model, there can be several boards in the outdoor unit any or all of which could be causing the fault as well as a faulty fan motor or compressor. The bottom line is that you are going to need a tech to take a look at it to diagnose properly.

The green timer light flashes 3 times at 10 second intervals and there is no red operation light on

Indoor fan motor mechanism locked. Rotate manually, if hard, replace bearing or motor. If easy to rotate replace capacitor. Still not working, check your motor windings.

To work out what the error code ispress the orange start/stop button on the remote controller so unit operationis stopped.
Then press and hold "energy save" and "zone control" buttonsimultaneously for at least five seconds, the error code will be along thelines of En:nn where the "En:" is the error code and the":nn" indicates the indoor unit address if there are multiple indoorunits connected to the one controller. If the upper vertical bar on the capitalE is missing so it looks maybe like a 2 or something don't worry for somereasons they just do that
Some common error codes are:
E0 Communication error between indoor unit and wired remote control, check ifthere is 12VDC between terminal 1 + 3 at remote control and 8-9VDC pulsatingbetween terminal 2 + 3. If DC volts out of Indoor pcb is below about 11.6VDC itwill cause this error, the problem is normally dry capacitors in the 12 VDCpower supply section. This model has two power supply sections on indoor pcb.
E1 Communication error between indoor unit and outdoor unit,
EF Discharge temperature abnormal
Is it helpful?

I had the same problem. The heater did not work in heating mode. However it was OK in air-conditioning mode. The operation light and the timer light blink twice and then the operation light blinks for 5 times followed by few seconds non blinking, then the cycle repeats again. I have read on the internet that you better unplug the power cord and then plug it again so that the heater re-sets itself. My only problem was that my heater is directly plugged to the power with no visible plug. So I went to the main distribution board and put off the power for about 20 seconds for the whole home. HOORAY!! The heater worked after that.

Fujitsu air con fault (new system)

steve, first look at the manual if really it is stated in there that the three blinks indicates an o.u. pcb. second, do you install them yourselves?. im not sure regarding warranty if you install them. normally there should be a qualified installer to install it to cover warranty. again if you install them yourself, double check the wires that goes to the outside unit. make sure each wire goes to its corresponding location. any mis-wiring would may also indicate a 3 blink alarm. if its covered in warranty. they should shoulder the expense if it needs board replacement. i hope i was able to solve your problem.. tnx
