DVD is not working anymore

DELL Optiplex GX 270, DVD is not working anymore. An y ideas?

    You need to give us a little more detail;



    - Can you hear it spin up?

    - Is the drive indicator (LED) turning on?

    - Are you getting any error message from Win or system?

    - Does the control panel-device menu show the drive?



    'Not working' doesn't say much . . .'

Is your Dell DVD is new? if it is.. try to go at the DELL and ask for the warranty.

Dell optiplex gx 270 is not giving display


If you are not getting display for your Dell Optiplex GX 270, the issue may be one of three possible causes:

* The VGA cable connection between the Dell PC and the monitor, may not be seated in the VGA port correctly. To resolve this, just make sure the VGA cable is seated completely in the VGA port of the Dell computer and that also the Power cord from the monitor to the power source (i.e wall socket, power strip, surge protector, etc.) is seated securely.

* There may be an issue with the Video card in the Dell PC

* Or there may be an issue with the motherboard for this model of Dell.

Internal speaker works external speakers don't how can I fix this. dell optiplex gx 270.


go into controll panel and change it to the right sound device and not the internal device and it should work hope this works,

Older Dell created photo and audio Cd's do not


if the CD's were written in a UDF format, then you'll need the same program on the Optiplex, or one that reads UDF format (Roxio Direct CD, Nero InCD etc)
If the cds are not in a UDF format, and are readable on the 2300 but not the GX 270 then there may be a tracking issue with one of the drive's alignments.

Nothing works on my dell optiplex gx 270


First, are you sure the power supply is coming on? Check by placing your hand at the back of the computer where the power cord plugs in, turn on the computer and see if you feel air blowing. It sounds like your power supply died.

If you're not using a quality surge protector, you may have fried the PS. Wal-Mart sells a cheapie one that goes bad quickly. If you spend less that $39.95 on a surge protector, you're basically wasting your money.

If the power supply doesn't come on, replace it, but you'll have to purchase it from Dell because they use proprietary PS - so generic won't work.

Dell Optiplex GX 270 pc desktop problem


I've heard that Dell will still honor the warranty if you mention the capacitors to them. They haven't recalled them, but they know it is a known problem.
