New computer with faster processor as media on the web is processor driven. The older and slower the system the harder it will be to play newer media on the web.

My sound is real funny like chipmunk sounds

If the pitch of the sound being played by your computer speakers has changed dramatically or songs and videos are playing faster or slower than they typically should be, the problem is with the sound speed on your computer. This could mean a hardware issue with your speakers or sound card or a software issue with the program that you're using to play a digital media file.

Double-check your speaker connections. If one of the audio cables that runs off of your speakers isn't plugged correctly into your computer, this could cause the audio coming from them to speed up or slow down. Make sure all cables are properly connected to their proper inputs and try to play your audio again. Update the driver for your computer's sound card. Go to the website of the company that made your sound card and look for your unit's product page. Under the "Support" section, click on the download link for the latest device driver. Once the file is on your computer, double-click on it to install it. Then restart your computer and try to play your audio again. Make sure you haven't accidentally sped up or slowed down the media file you are trying to play. Many digital media programs like iTunes or Windows Media Player have features that allow you to play a song or video in slow or fast motion. If this becomes accidentally selected, the audio will also be in slow or fast motion. Click "Stop" to stop your media file from playing and then click "Play" again to allow it to play normally. Restart your computer. This will free up system memory when your computer restarts. If your sound was playing too slow or too fast due to an error with not having enough memory to play properly, that error will now be fixed and your sound should return to normal speed. Hope this helps.

NIKON COOLPIX S4000 I TRANSFERRED MY MOVIE RECORDING TO THE COMPUTER, BUT WHILE WATCHING IT THE MOVIE IS PAUSING AND MOVING BUT THE AUDIO IS OKAY

Sometimes problem come from the player. Did you use Windows media Player? I suggest you to play the video with another player like Media Player Classic or KM Player.
Or there are corrupted files during the "copy-paste" process, maybe you have to try to copy the files once more?
But before you try those, you must ensure that the camera driver have been installed properly.
Hope this help (^_^).

Steve bridges videos keep pausing..little circle goes round and round.

Important note
1.The action taken in the video transmition on the web has to be indicated by a logo of activity that is taking place during a video download.
2.The round circle is simply the action icon chosen by the web host to indicate to you that video is on its way from one computer storage to another computer screen.

The conditions that cause videos on websites to apear momentarily are explanable
1. The uploading process is still taking place by the web administrator broadcasting the video. for example, the admisnistor of the web would be still recording the video only causing momentary displays at a time.
2.Th e computer system infrustructue is build to only transmit a few loads per second considering several factors
a. High impact cameras produce cristal clear pixles during download or records. Any camera without such functionlity only causes delays or poor transmittion capabilty especially when send and received over cables.
3. Finally, the internet telecommuncation set up has several causes to the condtion of momentary downloads.
a. High speed broadband achievaable by subscripton preference from an internet provider could solve slow motion on multimedia transfer on web sites for example.
b. The kind of network infrustructure set up where cables are faster transmittion lines over phone lines cause the website transfer to appear momentarily, a meams for the computer to only produce results based on the kind of structure option provided.
c.The features of the web hoser allowing videos to moves away from the web site. A web host could simple disable the features making posible fast networking or only wanting to allow a few transmittion at a time.
d. The computer infrustructure on the receiver of the video is simply dissallowing programs from arriving expediantly to be displayed on screen. A situation like that is discussable

1. Your computer has to have the features allowing for videos to display like needed. for example, video cards a high multimedia apabilties could be installed, the multi-media functionality of the computer could be adjusted to display videos with all intergral pixels possible.

I have had problems with streaming video during

Doing my best to give you a correct solution and understanding
Issue : delays in streaming video
Environment :
ISP : Bellsouth
Router : wireless WRT150N
Solution :
"Downside to streaming"
Traffic jams.
Internet isn't a direct pipeline from the source to you. Streamed content passes through many other computers on its way to your computer via your ISP. If any one of them is carrying too much other traffic, the streamed content may be interrupted and pause. Streamed content is "buffered" to help avoid this, but sometimes it's unavoidable.
(test the downstream and upstream speed and alose test the download )
(Checked deleting the temporary files and folders)
(Checked firewall and Anti virus)
A slow computer :
if you have too many applications open, it could slow down your media streaming. If you notice things are sluggish, close all unnecessary applications and windows running on your computer. Just keep your Web browser and your media player open.
Noisy phone lines.
phone line that isn't free of noise (humming, crackling), that's not good for streaming (or Web browsing). Disconnect any phones that cause a buzz or hum.

Any help building a media center box

Are the video card drivers installed? depending on which card it has its either a Ati card, sis or Nvidia. you can get the drivers for it from here

http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/desktop/aspire_t310.html

That is most likely it - the cpu is enought to run video. I have 512Mb on my old laptop and it plays video perfectly I think your going to upgrade this ones memory so it wont be a problem.

Cpu is good enought to play dvd and video.

Video card if no drivers are installed then it will be very sluggish and poor quality. if even after the right drivers are installed depending on what brand and model card it is, it may be too slow or the issue maybe in codec and media player.

try installing FFDSHOW into the computer and see if it improves (it wont help if the drivers aren't installed for the video card so make sure that is solved first) Download ffdshow latest here http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.php?d=4786&s=50 (for other users: its the latest version at the time of posting on may 18. check google for new version)

if you need to find out what video card the computer has you can use a program like http://majorgeeks.com/download4181.html <- everest home free.
