Question about Dryers

My dryer will not heat. The pilot comes on and then it lights. The flame goes out and then it keeps recycling like this without the flame. Replaced the sensor but this is not the problem.

Check the whole exhaust vent tubing
If clogged a little bit the exhaust will be restricted and the sensor will keep the burner in check preventing it to fire up

Check your hi-limit and/or cycling thermostats as they may be going bad(bypass them with a jumper wire) or check for weak gas boost and secondary coils on the gas valve when they get weak they wont hold open the gas valve

We have a residential Lochinvar Solution Boiler (model RBN090). Around 7 years old. For past 2 weeks pilot light keeps going out. 2 repairmen have come out. We have replaced the Gas regulator, the roll...

Take notice of the wind conditions when it goes out. If there is a draft, the wind can come in the room with the water heat from the flue and blow it out. Or it can come in the room from another way and exit from the flue and blow it out.

We have a commercial inglis gas dryer..under door is a model number JO-71200 when i search for it says no match.dryer quit about a week ago we replaced a few rollers then we noticed clothes weren't...

Well I'm not familiar with gas delivery systems on dryers, but I can tell you how they work on home heating boilers and I'm sure they are very similar. There are two type, standing pilot (which you have) and spark ignition. Spark ignition uses two electrodes with an electric spark to ignite the gas. Now your situation your dryer may have what is called a thermocouple which is like a little metal cylinder connected to a wire. When the flame is lit it heats that thermocouple which produces a voltage. That voltage keeps your gas valve open to keep the pilot light lit. If your pilot light is lit then the thermocouple is not bad. You need to check your circuit and see where the break is. Its true it could be a thermostat. To check a thermostat you need to take it off the dryer and you can either use a lighter or put it in boiling water till you hear is pop or open up. If you hear it pop twice then it is good (you'll hear it pop once when it heats up and once when it cools down). There is a circuit that keeps that gas valve open, and after 10 seconds something is opening that gas valve circuit, you need to see what all is connected to it, then you will solve your problem.

Dryer won't heat. Replaced sensor and ignitor. Flame initially comes on and heats temporarily but then shuts back off. Any ideas?

Make sure the thermocouple is in the flame of the pilot light, and using compressed air clean out the pilot light, and see if that will solve the problem.

Dryer starts, heat up than the goes out

Faulty gas valve coils are the typical cause of this type of "cycling". These electrical coils are right above the gas valves and when energized, these solenoids open the gas valves and permit the burner to light. If any gas valve coils are suspected of being faulty, it is recommended that both (all) be replaced at the same time. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Rewplaced igniter now dryer wont heat up

The dryer has electic 'eyes' to keep the burner from coming on if the pilot is not lit or the glow plug fails to come on. Be sure the windows to these 'eyes' are clean and in line with the light source (glow plug or pilot flame) that they are intended to sense.

After you replaced the glow plug, does it come on at the start of the cycle?

Intermittant flame, ignitor function is good, all other functions are as designed, timer ,tumble etc.

Hi

The pilot light flame would sometimes get very small and keep going out. This was usually because the pilot orifice was getting dirty and was partly plugged. The pilot orifice must be cleaned out when the flame becomes too small to light the main burner. You can blow air through the pilot assembly to help clean it out, don't use something metal in the pilot orifice hole or you risk enlarging the pilot gas feed hole and the pilot light may be too BIG. If your pilot flame keeps "going out", chances are you will need to replace the pilot latch do make sure the vent hood flapper is closing ok and no outside air blowing in is effecting the pilot flame.
This is a thermocouple that sensed the heat from the pilot flame and kept a small amount of gas flowing to allow the pilot light to stay lit. If you followed the instructions ( usually found inside the small access door on the front bottom ) on how to re-lite your pilot when it goes out and the flame will not stay on, replace the pilot latch assembly.

Please accept the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

How do you light pilot light?

Dryer does not have pilot light.  There is an ignitor that glows when the dryer is started and lights the flame when the gas begins to flow.  With the front of the dryer off start it up and look for the glow. when it glows hot enough (or on a newer model it might be a spark) the gas should ignite.  When the flame sensor sees that the gas is ignited it shuts off the ignitor and keeps the gas valve open until the temperature sensor gets high and shuts it off.  When the temp sensor cools down the cycle repeats.
If no glow or spark-->bad ignitor If no gas flow-->bad flame sensor or bad gas valve coil If gas comes on and goes off quickly-->lint filter and/or vent pipe or outlet may be clogged or bad flame sensor.

Bakers pride pizza oven

does it light then immediately go out? if yes, usually you have to hold in a button to allow gas to flow while you light the pilot, and hold this button until the therm0-couple is heated with the pilot flame. If the thermo-couple is not sufficiently heated and you let go of this button, the pilot light will go out as the safety circuit thinks there's no flame and unburned gas is entering the oven.

The other thing you could do is adjust the height of the pilot flame... there's usually an adjustment screw near the button described above which will allow you to adjust the height of the flame. Make the flame just big enough to guarantee that it keeps the thermo-couple hot AND that it can light the oven without being blown out.

Good luck.
