The wireless board on the main motherboard must be checked to see if it has come loose. This presents as the charge orabge lamp works with the charger pluged in, On green light comes on when power switch pushed once and stays on without flashing. Pushing the power switch once more puts the green light out. Bruce

Sounds like you need to send it in for repair. I had sent my console to VideoGame911.com and they repaired mine at a great cost and got it back at the end of the week. Give them a try, they are cheaper than a manufacturer. Good luck!

When i turn my ds lite on the green power indication light come's on but the screen dose not what dose this mean

Hi,

This is usually caused by an internal component becoming loose. It is usually either the wifi board of the L2 component.

Firstly I must say that if your DS lite is under warranty that you should send it off for repair, secondly if you are unwilling to do "DIY" on it that you find a reputable repair service (there are plenty of good ones on ebay).

If you wish to have a go at repairing it yourself then you willneed a few tools, check out my profile page (click on my name) and see the "DS lite dismantle process" guide.

Try disconnecting the wi-fi board and then placing it back on the motherboard and if that doesnt work try resoldering the L2 component. (you may find that the DS lite rattles when shaken and if this is the case then chances are the L2 component has come away from the motherboard)

Please get back to me if you need any further help or advice.

Water in ds

Hi,

If the power light only stays on for a second then chances are that the internal fuse has blown (F2).

If you have a warranty then send it off to them for a repair (although chances are there will be a fee due to most warranties not covering liquid damage).

Failing that you can send it to a local repair service... there are many good ones avaliable on ebay.

Or if you have moderate soldering skills and fancy doing a bit of DIY repairing I have written a few guides that will be of great help to you.

Firstly just to make sure all the water has gone I would suggest dismantling it as much as possible and then place it in an airtight container... fill the remainder of the container with rice and then seal it. Next place the container in a warm place such as an airing cupboard and leave it there for 1-2 weeks after which it should have dried out. Please noter that rice may need to be replaced if it becomes soft or soggy and also NEVER put the ds in an oven as some people would suggest.

You can get the fuses from ebay for a very reasonable price, you will also need a few other tools to take the DS lite apart such as:
a cross head precision screwdriver,
a precision tri-wing screwdriver (avaliable on ebay)
a soldering iron,
solder,
craft knife,
and tweezers.

I would also suggest giving the motherboard a bit of a wipedown with an alcohol based solvent such as "methylated spirit" or "white spirit" just to clean off any water damage residue that may have appeared making sure not to over dampen it (I use a cotton bud to apply the solvent).

Here are the guides:

Hope this helps, if you need any further assistance you may require please feel free to contact me.

I turn My nintendo DS lite on and after maybe 2 seconds the green light flashed and shuts off. Help!?

Hi,

Do either of the screens flash just before the green led goes of?

If it does then the screen that doesn't flash is faulty... If you have a warranty then i'd suggest sending it in for repair if not and you fancy a go at a bit of DIY let me know and I will take you through the process of dismantling the DS lite, reconnecting the screen to see if its just come loose and if you need to I can tell you how to go about fitting a new screen.

Hope this helps,

Ds lite battery wont charge i have charged it overnight but nothing the green light goes on but that is it

Hi,

If the green light is turning on and the screens are staying blank it is a problem with he L2 fuse on the motherboard (located just below the power button).

This can be replaced if you are handy with a soldering iron. If not drop it to a local repair shop it can be fixed for about €20.
