The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Starting it up with a new hard drive

In all reality this will probably NOT work, as is even if you do repair this install, the old hardware will be different as the hardware on this MotherBoard will undoubtedly be different than the one it came from... You will have to get an install disk and reinstall a NEW operating system all together.

I cannot either delete files or format a cd rw disk. Xl files are on the disk

Correct. Copy all the files into a folder on your disk-drive.
Delete the files. Use software (NERO, or ASHAMPOO Burning)
to "erase" the CD-RW disk, and then to write the remaining files back onto the "now-empty" CD-RW disk.

Believe it or not the help file is critical for the program to finish the install. If it is showing a corupt file it sounds like it could be a bootleg copy. If it isn't the disk has been damaged. Take care..Mark

Start up

without knowing which file is missing, you will need to repair windows, this is probably a boot.ini file that is missing. You will need to go intothe bios of your system (F2 or DEL on boot up) and in the advanced cmos settings, make your cd drive the first boot, device and insert your windows cd, save settings and exit. The system will reboot and ask you to press Enter to boot from cd. allow windows to install all the system files and in the next option, press 'R' to repair the files.
