Question about Cell Phones

1 Answer

My final objective is to copy my contacts and messages in my Nokia E66 (with a symbian OS) to my new HTC Legend with an Android 2.1 OS. To do this i have devised the following way - 1) Using Nokia PC suite, from my PC, i select all contacts, go to File/Export/ and Save as a .CSV file. This saves the file in an Excel .CSV file. 2) I open Microsoft Outlook 2007. (I dont have any prior contacts there since i dont use Microsoft Outlook at home.) I go to File/Import and Export. This opens a Import and Export Wizard,i select" Choose an action to Perform" where i select from the list, "Import from another program or file". I click on Next, which takes me to "Select file type to Import from" where i select Comma Separated Values (Windows) from the list. I click on Next, it takes me to a file name path, where i Browse the file that i just saved using PC Suite above. I Select Contacts as the Destination folder, and press next. At this point i am getting the following Error Message - A File error has occurred in the Comma Separated Values (Windows) translator while initializing a translator to build a field map. Outlook was unable to retrieve the data file (filename.csv). Verify that you have the correct file, that you have the permission to open it,and that it is not open in another program" I havent opened the file at all and yet i am getting this message. Please help.

There could be two problems first once you used comma separated values spaces in contact names are definetly going to occur that is going to ruin the file. This approach is entirely not recommended. Secondly if the file while copy has triggered any event in the OS that will be unavailable and would be shown under using category. Hence, first hit ctrl + alt + del open processes tab right click processes and select end process tree wait for 10 seconds click on first tab and click new task command button and type explorer and ok. Now try to import the contacts in outlook. I'm providing this so you can do this with your own method. There are many more methods to achieve the same. Kindly let me know if this does not works.

Move contacts, sms, calendar. phone log from symbian phone to android galaxy note 3?

Step 1. Run the program and connect two devices to computer via USB cables.

When the connect is finished, the two devices will be displayed in the places of "Source" and "Destination". The file will be copied from source phone to destination phone.

To start with, connect two devices (they can be iOS devices, Android or Symbian) to your computer via USB cables. When your devices are connected and detected by your computer, run Phone to Phone Transfer..
The names of your devices will be displayed in the places of "Source" and "Destination". You can click the blue button "Flip" between the two phones when you decide to change the places of the two devices.

Step 2: Start to Transfer files from One Phone to Another

Now, files on your source phone that can be transferred are listed in the middle, including photos, messages, contacts and more. You only need to choose those you want to move to another phone and click "Start Copy" button. Then they can be fully copied to your destination phone.

good luck!

How can i print my text SMS messages from my HTC Desire pda

Connect the HTC Desire to your PC via the USB cable, so that you can get to the .VCF card that was just created. Log into your gmail account and click on the contacts menu choice on the left side. Choose the "Import" menu choice at the top right of the contacts list now and select the .VCF and press Import. This will load all those contacts into your Contact list in Gmail and the next time you reset your phone and you resync with Google all your contacts will be then available again on your HTC Desire.

Other solution try Vibosoft Android Mobile Manager:

How can i change symbisn 3 os in to android

However, that's truly impossible in legal way. Android OS is never compatible with Nokia phones because Nokia phones are made only for Symbian OS.But i have perfect solution here.

Dual Boot is also possible click here to download setup file in pea format
You can upgrade Symbian 60 v 5 of X6 to Symbian X^3, but it will need much more RAM. Nokia X6 has only 128 MB RAM, while Nokia N8, the only Nokia phone that runs with Symbian^3 so far, has 512 MB RAM. Too bad, because to go to Symbian^3 using X6, you have to change RAM too, and it'll cost you lots of money.

RAM Upgrading + OS Upgrading + Brand new X6 costs are greater than buying a Nokia N8.

And Android OS, the 2.2 version is miles better and advanced that Symbian^3, Nokia is always behind of the competition but always give the best and reliable phone.

How can i transfer contacts from nokia to htc desire

If you have an Internet enabled phone, you can easily copy contacts from your old phone to the new phone over-the-air without even requiring a computer.

An online service called Mobical is free and it works with most mobile phones from Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson and so on. You first need to setup Mobical on the old phone and it will create a backup of your phone contacts in the cloud. Now setup Mobical on the new phone using the same credentials and it will automatically download all the contacts from the cloud to your new phone.

Android based phones can sync with Google Contacts out of the box - you can then export Google Contacts out as a CSV file and copy it to any other phone manually via the desktop tools. HTC even offers a desktop utility called HTC Sync that you may use to synchronize Outlook contacts with your Android phone. This will be handy when you want to copy your HTC's phone book to another phone that is not web-enabled.
