If it's new then get it replaced...
else u need to get it fixed from a tech shop....one of the below is @ fault....
1 the LCD screen is gone,
2 the backlite (a small tubelite) is gone
3 the invertor board(a small PCB) behind is gone

After a few seconds after boot up, the monitor turns black, images are visible in the background, but very dark. as if it is in a power saver mode.

Do you have brightness adjusting software. if so change the settings. if not there is something internally wrong with your back light.

LCD monitor turns black after a few seconds

I went through a lot of threads trying to come up with the solution to this problem, monitor goes off after a couple of seconds of just hitting the blue power button, and the solution I came to is the power supply within the monitor has gone out! which is common for flat pannel monitors, but I am not saying my situation is the same as yours, if you see different colors when it goes off on you, their is other problems wrong, mine has always been the power supply and I just take the monitor to a laptop repair guy and he charges me 65 flat to repair the issue. instead of going to viewsonic which they want you to send them and pay out of pocket first before they fix your issue. I will say 65 dollars flat and 3 days of not having a monitor is better then going to the ups store and paying 65 to box it and 70 to ship it. I guess look around for an electronics expert in your area and have them take a look at it.

Screen goes blank after a few seconds

Hi ,
The monitor flicker problem. The monitor when turn on will display image for couple of second then turn black. The monitor status led is still green. This will happen each time it is turn on. The symptom at appear to come from the inverter board.

AOC LM725 LCD Monitor

try looking for bloated caps, check all diodes... see if its not shorted/leaking and finally check the power regulator ic if its not shorted! note: some capacitors and diodes are very tiny, you should use a lens with good amount of light...

if it does not help..... well, what the hell? try pouring some gas, then light it up! that should solve the problem, at least it turned on right? hehehehe!

Monitor show picture for a few seconds, then turns black

It sounds like the power supply board on your monitor is failing. If it's still under warranty you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer - if not, you might be able to have it repaired at a computer or TV repair shop.

17" LCD Monitor - only works for a few seconds when turned on.

It seems to be an Inverter related problem in which backlight seems to be shiutting down.Is this monitor 3-4 years old???If so backlight of the panel could be an issue.
