Hi,

That is a safety feature to keep you and others safe. And not recommended by me. But I read somewhere that if you connect the parking brake wire from the device to the ground it may work.

Hope this helps.

Dear Wpbrascal,
This is what you do. You need a toggle switch a simple on and off switch. Connect your ebrake wire to the toggle switch and then a wire that is grounded to the toggle switch. Turn on your dvd player and when the warning message appears turn your toggle switch on and off and on and then you will be able to watch your movie.
You need a toggle switch something that looks like thisneed parking brake bypass code - 14e586e.jpg Connect your E brake wire to the left or right side of the toggle switch where the screws are. The E brake wire should be a white and blue colored wire and should be labeled already. Next you need to connect a ground to your toggle switch. The ground is usually a black wire. Connect that wire to your toggle switch. The ground that I used for my toggle switch is the same ground for the stereo I used. I just spliced into that. After that is all complete. Put your toggle switch some where in your vehicle where it can not be viewed easily. Insert a dvd into your head unit. Then when the blue screen appears saying you need to be in park to watch a movie use your toggle switch on off on off on. and you should be able to watch movies.

PS: To test it before you hook up your toggle switch touch your ebrake wire to a ground wire and then remove it then touch it again and hold it there and that should engage your movie. Use that method to ensure you have a good ground.

    OR YOU CAN TRY THIS..........

These methods have worked on a variety of DVD systems.

    OPTION NO.1.......

    1. FACTORY RESET METHOD (Temporary)
(This isn't the most effective, but it is the easiest to try, so it's worth a shot since it apparently works on some units.)
    ** Go to the Menu
** Get to the Settings Menu
** Select to Reset to Factory Settings.

    OPTION NO.2...

    DVD METHOD (Permanent)
    ** Insert a DVD
** Let it play until you hear sound
** Press STOP twice on remote
    ** Enter 26604
    ** Press ENTER

Usually the wire should be grounded. Connect the wire to a ground point via a switch (is illegal to watch TV/DVD while you're driving)

BYPASS

The security device was created to avoid you from watching DVD's while driving. It is simple to bypass. Simply take the parking brake wire (blue/yellow stripe wire) and connect it to the a ground wire (all black wire). This will trick the DVD player into thinking that the car is in park with the parking brake on at all times.
