Pioneer dvd recorder dvr 310

I went into the menu options and accidently set the remote to the 2 setting. what this did was make my remote not work anymore, is there any way to reset this to default without the remote??? DVR says it's recording from cable, but when I try to play it on the same machine it plays but I have no audio or video. I've checked the connections and tried changing the channel it's recording on.

HI,

There are two ways to reset the player:
1)Try unplugging it from all power and leave it unplugged for several hours. Sometimes it resets all settings to the factory defaults.

2) Use this procedure to reset all the player’s
settings to the factory default.:

1. Switch the player into standby.
2. Using the front panel buttons, hold
down the

(stop) button and press

STANDBY/ON to switch the player back
on.
All the player’s settings are now reset.

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to rate the solution.

Resetting the Recorder to Factory Settings
1. Make sure that the recorder is on
2. Press and hold the STOP button and STANDBY/ON button.
The recorder turns off with all settings reset.

Try this and let me know if it works.

The remote just says set 2 and does nothing

Does the TV screen say Set 2 or the display area on the DVD recorder? The original remote for the DMR-ES35VS doesn't have a screen. (If you are using a universal remote, I'm not sure how to reset the unit.)

The Set 2 indicates that the unit was set to listen to a remote on the second wavelength available on these remotes. Your remote needs to be set to the same wavelength. Press and hold Enter and then press and hold 2 (for about 2 seconds) on the remote to set it to this option. Press Return to move back through the menu or exit the screen. (Panasonic provided this feature for those with several devices so that each remote wouldn't control a nearby device at that frequency.) To get the recorder to respond to the remote, they must be set to the same range. To check, press the Functions button. Under Other Functions > Setup > Remote Control Code, you can adjust the wavelength that the receiver is looking for. (Use the up/down arrows to select a sub-menu and the Enter key to enter the sub-menu. Use the left/right arrows to select options in the secondary menu.) If the unit doesn't respond, try a different wavelength. (Press and hold Enter and then press 1 or 3. There are only three possible options for the remote/receiver.)

For a screen capture of this, see page 19 of the manual; it is available from Panasonic here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/DMRES35V.pdf . An original remote is available from Remotes.com: http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=DMR-ES35VS&uuid=13262363222670 . It probably comes pre-programmed for Remote Code 1.

I hope this helps.

How can i turn off the sap? I have used the setup menu, but when i get to the sap mode the arrows on the remote do not work.

Here are a few suggestions to help you with this problem:
1. While in the setup menu, and you are at the SAP mode, before using the arrows on the remote, hit the OK button, then the arrow on the remote. It is possible that when there is a drop-down menu involved, rather than just an on-off choice, the DVD is set to have to hit OK first to "lock down" the submenu.
2. Check to see if your DVD setup menu has more than one available language/closed captioning option in different areas of set up. For example, depending on your brand, there may be options available in general set up as well as video set up.
3. Check to see if your remote has audio and subtitle buttons. If you cannot set your options through the menu, it is possible with those buttons to chose the language and captioning options as you are watching.

Hope this helps you.

Followed the manual to return to the Default settings, using the remote "in the blind" pressing the arrow and Enter buttons, hoping I hit the right menu button. I did. Case solved. Thanks

1. Press the 'Set-up' button on the remote control
2. Select the 'System Info' mode from the on-screen menu
3. Using the remote control type in '1101'
4. 'Region code' should appear as an option on the 'System Info' menu. Initially the region code will be set to 4 (depending on your country). Press '0' on your remote control using the 10-keys to set to multi-region.
5. Press 'OK/Enter' on the remote control.
6. Finish by pressing the 'Set-up' button once more.

Unable to change the DVD 1 Command Mode back to DVD 3 (DEFAULT) SETTING

Had the same problem when I changed the factory settings by mistake. There is no "cancel" button in the remote or the set. What worked for me was to follow the directions on P. 22 of the manual and change the remote settings to DVD 1. This is done by holding the "Enter" button and pressing number 1 on the keypad simultaneously for more than 5 seconds. Then, you go back to the "Settings" screen with the "Settings" button, change the control back to DVD 3, and reverse the setting in the remote by pressing "Enter" and the number 3 this time. Remember to hold them down more than 5 seconds. Good luck!

I've seen this problem somewhere before, ran across it on a service call or something and I just can't remember where.. Just getting old I guess.. You should have a "Return" button on the remote. Press it and the "2"... That should allow you to access the unit again. What you've done basically is set the unit up as unit 2 and you could have as many as 3 identical units all operating from the same remote. So, Pioneer, in their infinite wisdom decided to make three specific designation points and allow you to switch the remote to access each one without disturbing the rest... If this doesn't solve the problem you might try calling Pioneer support, 800-421-1404 and they should clearly be able to help. Good Luck Bill
