Battery Problem My Cyber Shot works with regular batteries and al of a sudden it started eating batteries very quickly

Maybe the battery of your camera is wet. Try to quickly dry your camera's battery in sunlight and then put the whole camera ( excluding battery ) in sunlight. This may work as the moisture in your camera would dry out and chances are there that it may start working.

Is your batteris are comply with the specs described at the users manual?
If so, check the opreation temperature range if its fits your situation. Some devices can act abnormal below or above specified temperature ranges.
Out of those possibilities, another reason could be the internal circuitry resistance problem. Excessive resistance can eat up your batteries quickly, lower ampere batteries are tend to last very short time when they compared to higher ampere ones. Especially on cameras.

Go to Ebay and buy a new battery and charger. Be aware that the electronics in the camera may also be at fault. Batteries do not last forever, they have a lifespan of so many charges.

if you work on zoom. / flash & preview too often, they will eat into your battery life much more than just regular use. Also, if the batteries are old (more than 1 year) - high chances that they are at the end of their life span by now.

To solve this open the camera and remove the battery chamber (be careful with the cable that joins the chamber with the main board because it is very fragile). Once you have the battery chamber clean all the contacts with a contact cleaner. By all the contacts I mean, the 4 contacts for the batteries and the two contacts (male and female) that join the main board and de chamber. Be careful when you apply the contact cleaner to the main board contact bacause it is a liquid and might harm your lens if it reaches it. I have made this with my camera and worked awesome.

If you have used this camera more than three months Try changing the battery. Before using fully charge the battery. Let the battery consumed in your camera fully then you charge again. Otherwise the battery life will reduce. Try this option before trying any other option.

If you open the camera up, whick I know is an intricate task, and take the screen down but don't unplug it, at the right bottom their is something that resembles a watch battery, if you can figure out how to get it off and find a replacement it will be fixed... This battery serves a a sort of memory power, even though you have batteries, this battery keeps the memory for the camera's software, so inturn without it the camera is dead in the water. this is fixable!

Just a quick question (dont rate yet) Are the AAA's alkalines?
