Try leaving user name blank [ unless I am mistaken with the terminology. ] - for password - try admin - that's all - just the word admin in the password slot if this is the question. If it is a passkey set up for another reason - try 0000 zero's - 4 of em - 0000 - like that Last try is to reset - find the reset hole - keep the unit on and push an opened paperclip into the RESET hole for 10 seconds or so.

I just bought a laptop and I don't know how to connect the settings to allocate the Wifi please help

If the laptop is Windows-based, the default arrangement is all you need. As long as the wi-fi in the laptop is turned on (there is usually a button or function key combo that turns it on, and an LED to indicate it is active), you only need to go to the Network Menu and search for available networks. Find yours, select it, and choose CONNECT. Then, when asked, enter the network passkey. If you don't know this, it may be the default on the router, or you need to ask the person who maintains the router for the passkey. Once it is entered, the laptop will connect and you will have Internet access.

Will not let me connect to wi-fi it is not my wi-fi servce. it just keeps saying authentication problem

It will say Authenticating problem unless you have the passkey to the other WiFi networks. So unless its your WiFi or an open network you won't be able to connect. But you can try rebooting your device.

MY SONNY ERICSSON X8 WHY I CAN'T GET THRU IN WIFI

To connect to a WLAN via Wi-Fi™:
  1. From the Home screen, find and tap Settings.
  2. Tap Wireless controls > Wi-Fi settings.
  3. Mark the Wi-Fi checkbox. Available Wi-Fi™ networks are displayed in a list under Wi-Fi networks. The available networks may be open or secured. This is indicated by the icon next to the network name.
  4. Tap a Wi-Fi™ network to connect to it. If you are trying to connect to a secured Wi-Fi™ network, you are asked to enter the security key for that Wi-Fi™ network before you can connect to it. The Wi-Fi™ connection is displayed in the status bar once you are connected.
Useful tip:
  • The next time you connect to a Wi-Fi™ network, the phone will remember the security key.
  • To enable Wi-Fi™ network notification of open networks, mark the Network notification checkbox.
  • To connect to another Wi-Fi™ network, just tap another Wi-Fi™ network in the Wi-Fi networks list.
  • To scan for Wi-Fi™ networks manually, press the Menu key and tap Scan. The phone scans for Wi-Fi™ networks and displays them in the Wi-Fi networks section.

Ipod wi fi conection

Wi-Fi Functionality
  1. Connects over the last Wi-Fi network you used that's available.
  2. If no Wi-Fi networks you've used are available, iPod touch will scan for Wi-Fi networks and show a list of Wi-Fi networks in range. Tap a network and, if necessary, enter the password to join. Networks that require a password show a lock icon (307189_1.jpg) next to them.
  3. Option to manually enter your Wi-Fi network name/SSID (if the Wi-Fi network is configured not to broadcast or be displayed to the public). If necessary, enter the password to join.
When iPod touch is connected to a Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi icon (307189_2.jpg) in the status bar at the top of the screen shows connection strength. The more bars you see, the stronger the connection.
Wi-Fi Settings
  1. Turn Wi-Fi on or off.
Choose Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on or off.
  2. Set iPod touch to ask if you want to join a new Wi-Fi network.
When you are trying to access the Internet, by using Safari or YouTube for example, and you are not in range of a Wi-Fi network you have previously used, this option tells iPod touch to look for another network. iPod touch will display a list of all available Wi-Fi networks that you can choose from. Networks that require a password appear with a lock icon (307189_1.jpg).

If "Ask to Join Networks" is turned off, you must manually join a network to connect to the Internet when a previously used network is unavailable.

Choose Wi-Fi and turn "Ask to Join Networks" on or off. If you turn "Ask to Join Networks" off, you must join new networks manually.
  3. Join a Wi-Fi network manually.
Choose Wi-Fi, wait a moment as iPod touch detects networks in range, then choose a network. If necessary, enter a password and tap Join. Networks that require a password appear with a lock icon.
  4. Make iPod touch forget a network, so that the device doesn't join it automatically. Choose Wi-Fi and tap the arrow (307189_3.jpg) next to a network you've joined before. Then tap "Forget this Network."
  5. Connect to a closed Wi-Fi network (an available Wi-Fi network that isn't shown in the list of scanned networks).
Choose Wi-Fi, then tap Other and enter the network name. If the network requires a password, choose Security, tap the type of security the network uses, and enter the password. You must already know the network name, password, and security type to connect to a closed network. Some Wi-Fi networks may require you to enter or adjust additional settings, such as a client ID or static IP address. Ask the network administrator which settings to use.
  6. Adjust settings to connect to a Wi-Fi network
Choose Wi-Fi, then tap the arrow (307189_3.jpg) next to a network.
