My turn signals wont work. i changed the fuses and checked the lights

Did you check the dimmer switch for the dash lights ?

Are you getting power in and out of the turn signal switch ?

pickup a test light and check all the fuse if the fuses are good then you probably have a bad signal flasher.make sure you change the signal flasher and not the emergency flasher as they look the same.

did you check your fuses? it may be blown fuses or a short in the wiring

CHECK BRAKE LIGHTS FUSE.IF OKAY BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH BAD OR TURN SIGNAL SWITCH FAULTY BECAUSE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND TURN SIGNAL SWITCH SHARE THE SAME CIRCUIT.

If they will work with hazzard lights turned on then you need a turn signal flasher,after you have checked the fuses of course.If that does'nt cure it then it's either the Signal light switch or bad wireing,but this is not common.

YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH.BECAUSE WHEN IT GOES OUT.SOME TIMES YOUR DIMMER SWITCH STOP WORKING.IF YOU GOING TO FIX IT YOUR SELF BESURE TO.DISARM AIR BAGS FIRST.

please check your brake light switch located near the brake pedal. it could be faulty.

Hi.
On your 98 Dakota.
Is equipaded with a single Flasher.
If you replace all ready.
Check the FUSE # 10, 15 amp..
On the Fuse box. left side of Dash.
and the FUSE D 25, amp. On engine compartment Fuse box.
Check the proper funtion of the HAZARD switch.
Bacause if the Hazard switch is bad the turn signal don't will work. Match the OLD flasher with the New one.

If after of this still not work.
Remove the steering wheel cover, locate the Turn signal switch connector and with a TEST Light check power with the Key ON
12v. to the RED wire and PINK wire..
If you found 12v. check the connection with the switch.
If the connection is good. you will need to replace the turn signal switch.
But if you don't found 12v. You need to look a an open circuit.
And fix it..
