Question about Acer NSK8458AN Keyboard

1 Answer

I have a acer netbook and I have to type really slow for my words to register. I also can't type the same letter twice without giving it a second and you can't backspace very fast either. This has only been a problem for about a week. You can also hear yourself typing there is a little beep with each stroke of the keys.

Since you only gave ten letters, it's impossible to make a five-letter word and a six-letter word from them without using a letter twice.

I don't remember my password and when I tried to change it the response was you need to insert the pass word reset disk. This netbook cannot hold a disk. What can I do?

We're all very busy these days, and we leave behind things. Resetting your password requires powerful software that can only be accessed from a CD which means you need an external and then some very tricky and lengthy instructions on how to get your hands on some really piratical stuff.

Here's my guess.

You CAN remember your password. You just have to slow down enough to see it. Visualize when you last typed it in. Letter by letter it will come back.

Otherwise, I reveal who I am and that just won't do. LOL

Hi,when I type word, letters are missing from most of the words unless I go slow and really hit he key,any solutions for me?

The keyboard is going bad and needs to be replaced. However you may get a little more life out of the keyboard by buying some canned air and spraying the keyboard. Sometimes dust or crumbs gets under the keyboard and cause poor contact.
Otherwise another option is to use a full size desktop keyboard and plug it into the jack on the laptop. Then you will be able to type normally. Its a bulky solution, but it works

Sounds like your Hotmail account may have been hacked and/or a keylogger software may be intercepting your keystrokes.I would change the account or stop using it.

Acer netbook when typing I get a mix of numbers and letters ...

Hey this happened to me too. Then I realized that the number lock was on which makes a combination of letters and numbers. Is it that U makes a 4. I makes 5. O makes 6. J makes 1. M makes 0. K makes 2. And L makes 3. If so hold the Fn button and then F11.

hit # to toggle through the different modes... however, if you get used to using the 'autosuggest', it'll make things faster, and as you use it, it'll start to learn what words you use more often. just hit the key for whatever letter you want, and then you can cycle through suggestions, probably with up and down on the dpad, or take the suggested word with right.  you don't hit multiple buttons to get the letter you want, you let it guess for you.  so, to get 'hello', you press 43556, instead of 4433555555666.
