Question about Yamaha RX-V661 Receiver

HDMI Video/Audio cut after 10min playback

I have 2 HDMI inputs connected to the V661; one from a APACER Media Centre and one from a Pioneer DVD.
When viewing media from the APACER, no problems are encountered.
While after 10mins of (Pioneer) DVD playback the PCM and (L)(R) symbols on the V661 display flashes and the video and audio cuts.
When a fan blows directly on the V661, the video & audio cuts do not happen. Is there a solution to this?

How to hook up to panasonic tv & sony dvd player

DVD output (HDMI) to HDMI input on TV will transfer both audio and video from DVD to TV. Audio output on TV to unused Input on Yamaha receiver (Aux, CD, etc.). This hookup will allow DVD and TV channels audio playback through your Yamaha receiver. Remember to test any/all new hookups or connections using minimum settings (volume, etc.), and bring up levels slowly for the initial testing.

No auto setup display on TV

For the setup functions you have to use either the monitor out (a yellow jack on the top-right corner of the back) or you have to use component video out. HDMI will NOT work for setting up the system. This is one complaint to Yamaha from all of us.

How to connect BLU-RAY DVD player to Pioneer Plasma TV via HDMI

The best possible solution to your problem is :
Connect your blu ray player directly to the HDMI input of you Plasma and watch HD video....
and connect the 5.1/7.1 sound thru the optical or the coaxial link directly to your AVR 3805.
You will not loose anything on the Blu-Ray.
The sound is best processsed by the AVR3805, while the video, which is the real upgrade (BluRay) in terms of resolution of picture would be processed by your plasma.

Connect and Enjoy

HDMI Compatibility

It sounds to me like you have a HDMI Control issue. It sounds like the DVD player wants to control the receiver. Try turning off hdmi control on the TV, reciever, and the dvd player in their setup menus.

Let me know if this helped,

Joe
