10 yr old, sits in a garage. Worked fine until a day ago. Top-freezer working perfect, but lower food area was 65 degrees. Removed food, turned off and set temp again. After turning on, lots of water dripping inside (about 3 cups, though not hooked to water supply nor was freezer failing). Over night, temp now down to 40. Outside temp was in 90's the first time this year the last two days (and NC humidity), so I suspect that has a lot to do with it. Just don't know if it is a sign of coolant issue (though freezer fine) or possibly thermostat.

Is the fan operating,if so then check your damper vent door that throttles cold air from freezer to refrige compartment they can freeze shut and a hand held hair dryer will thaw them out, then adjust its control to make sure the door moves when control is adjusted

Top freezer quit freezing. Refrigerator works.

Good day,
Yes, the cold weather is the cause.
Your machine is cycled off and on by the thermostat located in the fresh food compartment. When the fresh food compartment is satisfied, it will shut off the entire machine.
Any temperature below 55 degrees will reduce running time until the freezer will not function, or at best poorly.
Engineers designed domestic refrigerators to balance properly between 70 and 95 degrees. It should be in your user manual.

WATER QUIT RUNNING IN DOOR

Okay. My appliance is around four years old. The first time the water quit working was about a year ago (ice cubes / dispenser was fine). I just let it go and didn't worry about it. One day months later, I found it functional again. That lasted about a month or two, then it recently quit again. Tonight, I located the water supply line coupling under the unit on the left side under the freezer door, about five inches from the hinge. I separated the coupling (push lock type) and pressed the water dispenser lever. After a few seconds, the water flowed out just fine. I re-attached the coupling, turned the freezer coldness selector to 0 (off) opened the freezer door and fetched my wife's blow dryer. I ran the dryer along the inside of the freezer door near the black door seal frrom the hinge up to the water/ice dispencer compartment. I also ran it all along the back of the dispenseer compartment to the handle side of the door as I am unsure of where the water line runs. After about ten minutes of this, I attempted to dispense water with no luck. I continued with the blow dryer until the plastic and even the door seal were very warm to the touch. I closed the door and attempted to dispense water once again, and this time it worked. I turned the coldness selector back on. This time I set the freezer to 3 and the fridge to 7. I ran several cups of water through the dispenser since it's been sitting in the line for a while before drinking any. As for the "reservoir," I don't where or if one exists, but heating up the inside of the door from hinge to dispenser worked perfectly. Hope this helps someone!

Cheers!

its possible that your water tank has frozen up, try turning the refrig off and leave the doors open for about 10-15 mins and try it again. if that works just reset temp controls a little lower..
