The power supply wattage rating is MAX wattage, not constant wattage. the power supply only outputs the amount of power that the rest of the computer calls for, and no more. if yor computer only needs 200 watts, that is all that will be sent from the power supply; even if it has a max rating of 600 watts, it will only send the amount of watts which your computer calls for.

Can i put a 9800 gtx+ on a dg31pr motherboard?

OK, Here you are . Your present card ,8500GTdraws approximately 40 watts. Your proposed card draws approximately 150 watts according to a review I just read on it.  A 400 watt is not very much and if you get close to maxing out you run the risk of a low voltage problem which could and will burn out compoinents.  I would not do it.    Also , if you upgrade power supply, know that the wattage given is usually peak , not operating wattage which can be as much as 10 or more percent less. Go for at least 600.

Sorry for my bad english

Hi mastelmkd, click on this link;
http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=prodcpusupport&prod_no=499&maincat_no=1#menu
This is MSI's link for supported CPU's for the 645E Max-U motherboard. Check you're bios version. You'll need ver 5.3 to run the Pentium 4 (Northwood, FSB533, L2 Cache 512KB), Pentium 4, 2.8GHz CPU. Or you can choose a lower CPU from the list. Suggest you add the link above to you're favorites.

Good luck mastelmkd!

MAX HDD CAPACITY ADDRESSABLE

Hi john,
The issue what operating system are you running? Not your board).
Windows 98 can see a max of 64GB & windows 98SE, 137GB. Win XP can see a max of 2 exobytes.
(What is 1exobyte, EB. In decimal terms, an exabyte is a billion gigabytes).

Your 160BG drive is safe with XP.
