Question about Whirlpool 24 in. DU1100XTPS Built-in Dishwasher

Open Question

DU100XTPS7: In "pots and pans" and "normal" cycle water fills during "soaking" phase, but does not transition to "washing" phase at all; In "light" cycle the water fills during soaking, then light comes on for washing phase but nothing happens - have had the washer for 3 years and worked fine until 2 days ago - thanks in advance for any info

SOURCE: Flashing pot and pan light

shut off the power and see if the unit will reset. if its plugged in, it will be easy, look under the sink. if not, try a breaker.
let the power stay off for about a minute.
then back on.
if not restored, then you have logic boards that failed.
sorry,
good luck

SOURCE: whirlpool dishwasher du912pfgq1, timer will not advance

does sound like a timer issue, valve obviously works(fills in rinse) timer not advancing, ( sometimes can be from the timer knog hitting against he console itself, try pulling the knob out a bit, eprhaops its getting stuck.) looked up the timer 8535371 retails for about 115 bucks, dishwashers are no longer very expensive so keep that in mind while trying to repair this one

SOURCE: dish washer not filling

I had the same problem. It was a clogged water inlet valve. Packed with sediment. Accessible from the bottom if you have the right tools. Just clean out and replace. Or the valve could be bad.

Remember sometimes there is a rinse and soak that happens in some models, and if everything is running normal then all your getting is the occassional water release during certain cycles.

The other logical point is that it can be related to a faulty output or error from the program controller output. In some cases choosing an alternate program cycle can confirm this case of faulty cycle patterns.

Not enough water in tub

Mderford, on a normal fill, the water should be just above the filter screen. 1.8 gallons first fill, 1.7 on all other fills. Don't think it would be a siphoning problem as you are not having this on the pots/pans. Check the float, make sure it is not sticking. You can check the inlet valve filter screen to see if it is not plugged. Run it through the diagnostics cycle by pushing high temp-air dry-high temp-air dry. Some models it's heated dry-normal-heated dry-normal. It will run through a self test for about 20 minutes. See if any error codes come up. Fill time should be approx. 1:30 to 1:40 seconds. If any of the aformentioned doesn't turn up any results, then it's possibly a faulty fill valve drive circuit on the control itself...Catriver..post back.
