Press the square root key then enter a positive number. If the screen displays a left parenthesis, close the right parenthesis before pressing the =/EXE key at the bottom right of the keypad.
The square root key has the markings of a radical.

There is a dedicated key for the function. The key is labeled as on the third line of the table below. You enter a positive number, press the key and then hit [=]. Hope it helps.

To calculate the square root.
Press the square root key, enter a positive number, close the right parenthesis (may be omitted) and press [=].
