Question about Maytag MAH6500 Neptune Front Loading Washer w/Built in Water Heater
The clothes are still wet after the spin cycle. The washing drum turns with a lot less effort when I turn it by hand leading me to suspect that I have a broken belt.
Would you please let me know if this is the case and how to go about fixing it myself. Specifically how to remove the Washing machines cover so that i can get to the suspect part.
Kris I opened the back of my maytag neptune washer and the belt has fallen off. I tried to put it on but it seems to slip off as I rotated it. I don't see any motor isolators but then I don't know where they would appear.
Also, I found muddy water on the floor of the machine; wires are sitting in the water! The water looks clay-like even though I live nowhere near clay! There is a lot of dry "clay" as well, as if it's been collecting for a long time.
Sounds like your bearings have gone in the back of the drum and damaged your water seal. the clay type substance is possibly water mixed with grease.
