The Cursor jumping can be resolved by going to the touchpad properties and enabling touchcheck (Palmcheck is some drivers) this will disable the touchpad while typing.

Ad far as dealing with heat, canned compressed air blowing dust out of the air intake/exhaust will normally help cooling

Never use canned air on an outlet. It only pushes the dust back in. Get out your vacuum and pull the dust out with that. When you've got it in pieces, then by all means, used compressed air. Vacuum keboards, intakes, outlets, power supplies, you name it. Some Dell models are famous for overheating. The old D600 and D800 series, you'd need an oven mitt between your scrote and the laptop. From what I can tell, the Studio series are just as high natured.

Keep the palms of your hands away from the "touchpad" -- you're accidentally moving the mouse-pointer as your fingers press on the keys.

The cursor backs up in the middle of my typing on my computer

Press F5 then wait three seconds and press F8. This will enter cursor mode and then you go to Start>Control Panel and then smack the tar out of your "Home and Insert" Keys. They have bad contacts. Flip the keyboard or laptop over and tighten all of the phillips head scres in that area and in general (on a laptop the keyboard screws are labelled with a "K" imprinted in the plastic next to the screw holes. Best of luck and definitely blow it out with airduster or a small vacuum.

Cursor problem

I've worked on a lot of the CPX machines and never encountered this issue. Can you use the cursor when it does this and does it eventually go back to the way it should be? Try checking and cleaning the connector, it's under the keyboard. To remove the keyboard, take out the screws on te bottom of the machine marked with a K. Then take a small screwdriver and lift one side of the keyboard, at this point it should lift up, keep in mind that it's still connected to the board, so lift gently.
