Question about Toshiba PX1342E1CAM Webcam

Webcam does not turn on

Previously when the webcam was plugged into the USB port it would turn on and could communicate with my PC. For some reason my PC does not pick it up anymore. The USB port seems to be working because I can use other USB devices through it.

I dont know how to turn my web cam on. please can u help me

The HP Pavilion DV6000 is a laptop from HP's entertainment series; this series is optimized for media and gaming. Unlike some of the newer models, it doesn't feature a built-in webcam. Webcams are an asset to online communication, allowing you to stream a live recording of yourself. Installing an external webcam to use with this laptop model is quick and easy.

1.Plug the webcam into a free USB port on your laptop.

2.Wait for any missing drivers to load; a notification will appear in your system tray when the process is finished. If drivers do not load automatically, see Resources for a download link.

3.Wait for the webcam software to install itself. Alternatively, if your webcam came with a CD, insert it and install the software from there.

4.Open the webcam software to turn on your webcam. Once the software loads, you will be able to see your webcam image.

How do you set up the web cam on a acer laptop

  1. Plug your webcam into your laptop's USB port. All modern webcams use the USB port, which is generally located on the left or right side of your laptop.
  2. Install the CD that came with your webcam. All webcams come with a CD with drivers that allow the computer to read the data from the webcam. The CD may also come with a chat program which will allow you to communicate with online contacts who use a similar webcam.
  3. Mount the webcam on top of your laptop. Most webcams will have special plastic clamps that will attach to the top of your computer without hassle. However, since Laptops are often moved around, be careful not to use any adhesive docking mounts, as these are non-removable and may not allow your laptop to fit into specialty cases.
  4. Download and install a video chat service. There are several free video chat services, including Windows Live Messenger and Skype. See the resources section to links to these video chat programs.
  5. Test your webcam. Open your selected program and go to the webcam section. Try contacting someone you know on the service. You should see both yourself and the other person in separate windows. If your feed is shaky or flickers, you may need to reconnect the USB cable. If you do not see the picture at all, try re-installing the drivers on the CD that came with the webcam. You also may want to try the different troubleshooting steps outlined in the owner's manual.
INFO
In order to communicate with people online, your laptop will need to be connected to broadband Internet speeds, as dial-up does not have the necessary bandwidth for Internet video chat.

My PC (running Vista) does not see my HP Webcam Deluxe. Why?

Fully, uninstall your drivers from Device Manager...then connect to internet and let the Vista detect the drivers automatically. Normally this is caused by Windows updates.

Webcam

Hello,

For pluging the Webcam you need to have USB ports.
You need to install the latest service pack available for your OS
You had to install the USB 2.0 drivers for supporting the cam
Install the drivers of the Webcam
Restart the System
Now Plug the webcam usb connector to any port of the motherboard

Usb extention lead doesn't work with webcam

So you know the cam is ok and the cable, so you will have to point to the usb port not being able to push enough power through the cable to the camera as it must take a higher voltage than the other cam. Make sure that the other cam software is uninstalled and you have done registry clean in case of conflicts and also try using a different usb port but install the camera with the driver again using the extension in it, aplogies if you did, i am assuming you may have installed the camera directly without the extension cable.
