HP Laserjet 4600 help

I have a LaserJet 4600 which I am getting a fine black line down the right side of my pages. My transfer kit life is 89% & my fuser kit life is 36%. Do you think if I change the fuser kit it will take care of that line or could it be something else?

Black line down right side of 3050 laserjet

I would try a few of the following; try a fresh (clean) install of the printer on your pc; or try a firmware upgrade on the printer; or clean the toner cartridge transfer roller (it may even be scratched.)

My network laserjet 4600 only comes out black not color both when printing and just a information page from the device

Try the above troubleshooting steps for each color page that prints out for test pages.

Try to click on 'magenta' for instance, and follow the leads to a solution for your black only print problem.

My 4600 is running a black line down the center of the page. Before I open another toner I want to find out if there is any other reason this is happening.

The black line is either coming from the toner cartridge or the transfer belt. You can usually see a line on the transfer belt if that is the cause. Just open the large fron door and look at the transfer belt that is mounted inside the door. If you can see a line of toner on it similar to what you see on the page then there is your cause. You can also look at the drum in the black toner cartridge to see if there is a line on it as well. That should elp you determie wether to change it or not. Are you using remainufactured toners or OEM HP?

Hp 4700n laserjet printer. I get black dashes on the right hand side of the page exactly every 1 1/2" every time i print. I've replaced the infuser and the image transfer kit but still get the marks. What...

I would first suspect the black toner cartridge. This is especially true since you have replaced the Fuser and Transfer Units. Most likely you have a pit or other mark on the drum surface so it is printing the mark on the page at regular intervals as the drum rotates. If you have a spare I would swap it out and I'd be willing to bet it goes away.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

HP laserjet 4600dn printer. Replaced the HP C9724a transferkit, but the message "new transferkit" does not appear. How to simulate putting it to zero. Erik 22-06-2010

The printer counter needs to be reset by going into menu and finding resets. Then toggle down until you come across Transfer Kit & press ok.

Run a half test. Start printing a few pages, as it prints open the cover, remove the toner and look down at the paper. Does it have lines on the right side? If yes - replace the toner cartridge.
