Mwaves shut off when they overheat and take a time to recover. This is a failsafe to prevent fire.make sure the unit has plenty of airflow around it and the vents are not blocked off ( hutches are notorious for overheating Mwaves) Sometimes the steam from a potato or a cup of water will overheat the sensor and cause it to shut down.

If it is a fuse the whole outer case hasd to be removed and it's usua;;y top left or right on the inner pod.

please rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA

My microwave just stopped working. No problems until now. In the middle of cooking it just stopped. No display, no beeps, no bouttons working, no light inside. There is power to the outlet I can plug in...

for the microwave to stop suddenly it has blown its internal fuse this is located under the top panel of the unit it should be white with two silver tips ( ceramic fuse) in some cases the fuse will blow for no good reason on the other hand it can be a serious fault the fastest way to check this is to replace the fuse and re test the unit if the fuse blows instantly then bin the microwave if not it the fuse may have simply failed

best of luck always remember unplug the unit first and always replace with same size and and current fuse

please rank this advice if it helped you

Power just stopped working. Is there a fuse built into the oven?

Yes there is a fuse which is built within the oven. Open the back cover and locate the fuse which is located in the power supply board. Replace it with same value.

Stopped working

Hi,

The problem you are describing is most likely a fuse that has blown. The fuse is in a holder just behind the control panel. It should have a rating on the fuse itself, typically it is a 15 amp ceramic fuse that you should be able to find at Radio Shack. But be sure to check the fuse for the right rating.

My microwave stopped working. PLEASE HELP.

In all likelihood the mangnetron has failed, or perhaps even the Power Supply. or a fault that is shutting the system down for safety reasons You need to have it serviced by a reputable service centre/man. Ensure you get a firm "Quote" before proceeding, and remember these days the cost of repair can equal or exceed the price of a new one.

Microwave stopped working, no power. Checked

There are two thermal fuses.

One is located on the magnetron and another one is located on top of the left side of the cavity under the air duct. The microwave has to be removed from the cabinet to access the second one.

The problem turned out to be a 20 amp fuse that I was able to replace and the unit is working fine. Sometimes a blind squirrel finds nuts.

Microwave stopping working

check the fuse on the microwave. if its busted, something shorted out in the oven that tripps off your breaker. it could be your inverter.

Microwave stopping working

In this one, the most likely causes are the inverter or magnetron, but it really will need an experienced troubleshooter. Due to the lethal voltages involved, I do not recommend that a person without training and experience ever work on these models. You should be able to locate a Panasonic-authorized servicer here: http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/WhereTo/FindServicer.asp?Pass=1 I would mention the exact symptom when you call so the technician can bring a new inverter with him when he comes out to repair it. Might save you having it pulled into the shop.
