I want to use my Motorola W230 as USB modem for internet browsing through GPRS service of BSNL India. Unable to do so after installing the motorola usb_driver_32.zip. Please help and send procedure. Thanks.
I own MotoYuva W230 and am also struggling to do the same.
The W230 seems to have builtin modem.
First of all we need to install the drivers from
www.motorola.com/support/w230 and download the file from link USB modem
drivers. Install it and it will create a virtual COM port for the modem.
Open HyperTerminal and try to connect to the port it. You can check the actual port number from "device manager" on WinXP.
Once you connect it will say "AT command Interpreter ready"
Here you can give commands
after last command if your GPRS is active, the icon on topline will change to connected.
This hints to presence of GPRS modem but I am still not able to connect using my phone.
Please update anyone can indicate way forward. Taking From : http://news.softpedia.com/news/Motorola-MotoYuva-W230-Entry-level-Music-Phone-78060.shtml
OK if you know the virtual port.
Instal a new modem manually;
From Control panels, select MODEL and TELEPHON
Instan new one....
Manualli Selection the driver MOTOROLA PHONE and choose the COM Port the same of virtual port.
In the "device managere" if the same port is used from another hardware Disable it

hi, please contact your BSNL customer care for obtaining GPRS settings for your mobile. once they are received, please save them. or please go to the website of www.nokia.com, enter into the tab "support and software". please enter the country's name as "India" and browse for the mobile and order the primary and secondary settings (mms and Wap). you will be asked to select the service provider for which you should give Bsnl. once you order the settings you will receive them free of cost. also please have a look at the tariff plans of Bsnl before using the internet. thanks, have a nice day.
Call you Aircel customer care and ask them to send the GPRS settings. Once you receive the GPRS settings store it. Now go to Menu->Browser->Web Session->Aircel or Aircel Live. Now switch off and switch on your mobile. Now you can browse from your device W230
