Fischer Paykel smartdrive washing machine

My ten year old Smartdrive has just developed a problem where it continual stops and starts every two seconds or so until it just errors with a beeping sound. I have tried it on multiple programs, just spin and so on to no avail. I'd be grateful for any advice. Time for a new one??

R=Thanks
Jon

Hi, Thanks for the last response. I have found the microswitch and while the contacts don't look too bad the switch itself looks dodgy in that having gently pushed it in it has now stayed in. Do I need to try and find a replacement or can you prise it open to clean it up? Or is there a way to just by-pass it?
    Thanks again.

Hi, I have now managed to clean up the switch with a pin and its running nice and freely. Put it all back together and the machine is running like new! Given its Mother's Day here in Australia my wife is so pleased I don't have to send her out to the laundry-mat ;-)

Thank you so much for your help.
    Best regards
    Jon

sounds like your out of balance switch is faulty. to fix this fault you need to remove the top 2 screws holding the top panel to the machine. remove the panel gently, but be careful as it has the wires to the keypad attached . now what color is the control board ? it might be brown, grey, blue, green or yellow. please reply and i can guide u thru the next part to fix this fault. please turn off the power first do not want any accidents.

Ok. first remove the keypad wires to the control board. then remove the screw holding the control board to the frame. the switch is underneath [to the right] of the control board. looking at the switch you will have 2 wires to it, [it is just a normal microswitch]. now be careful on this next part, remove the switch from where it is clipped in. remove the 2 wires to it. does it look corroded?. see the little button on it, push it. is it clicking positivity? have u got an electrical test meter? u need to test for conductivity between the 2 contacts that the wires were on. if u have no conductivity then that is the problem. please reply back with answers to the questions and i can guide u thru the last part to fix this fault.

glad i could help. i posted the last reply getting ready to go to a mothers day lunch. if u have any more problems please reply. good luck with the machine .by the way the one thing that causes this fault is the use of warm or hot water. it''''s the steam that corrodes the terminals. have a good one and bye for now

I have a Fisher and Paykel Smartdrive 9 washing machine that won't fill. It starts then stops and continues to do so, then stops altogether and beeps. Can anyone help??

The error code is displayed when its beeping.
I don't know the error code, so It can only be three things,
Out of balance switch,Lid magnetic reed switch,Or Rotor position sensor,Your error code would help me work out witch one of these are faulty. to work out your error code look at picture below.
Add up the lights that are on.

Fisher Paykel washing machine Smartdrive 703 Advance, Power and Start buttons are non responsive when pushed. Is there a part that can fix this. Does the control panel have to be replaced?

Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive beeps and stops during rinse cycle. If I hit pause and wait and restart it eventually continues. It seems like it has problems detecting water level.

Fisher paykel Washing machine stops spinning then resumes.

This sounds like it could be a faulty door lock switch. The switch can be tested for continuity using a multimeter. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty switch. Hope this helped and best wishes.
