Hello.

There is either a problem with your monitor, VGA cable or PC's video connector. Try another PC or another monitor to narrow down your problem.

If another monitor works, swap the VGA cable on your old monitor.

If another monitor doesn't work, your video connector is faulty.

Hope this helps.

How do I change the video connector? I have the 'I have a hp vs 17 e monitor the problem is it powers on but no screen the power light just flashes' symptom and changed the cable with no improvement.

The power light flases can mean it is not geting the signal from PC or it is in shutdown protection mode. Try it on another PC first. If it does the same then you will need to open it up, but you should read below at look at my pictures albums to get some idea what to look for inside.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Power led on hp monitor flashing

mham2525, Did it have a "perfect" picture on it yesterday? You do know that if the COLD-CATHODE-FLUORESCENT-TUBES that are hung on the rear of the LCD PANEL fail to light, all you get is a BLACK screen to look at!!!!! OMG, What shall I do now???? It sure would be nice if all we needed to do was remove the cover and then screw-in 4 new CFL light bulbs into our monitors. YOUR UNIT WILL NEED TO BE TROUBLESHOOTED AND REPAIRED. MOST LIKELY A SMPS/INVERTER BOARD FAILURE. CALL HP TO SEE IF THEY HAVE A SWAPOUT PROGRAM. Bye for now. lmistyrel @aol.com

Hp pavilion f1703 blue monitor power button flashesw/ dark screen

Have you tried connecting this monitor to another computer, even a laptop. This would tell you whether the display is bad or the video card is the culprit. I suspect the monitor's power supply is dying. Taking it to a pro for repair should cost @55.00. Buying a new monitor @ $100 - $125.

HP Pavilion 17" screen flashes on and off

Try reinstalling your monitor. You should have a disc that came with all of your equipment.Make sure it is a clean install and there are no other programs running. Also check all connections to make sure they are tight.

If this does not help, do you have another monitor you can install temporarily so that you can work on this problem?

Is this a new monitor installation? You might want to check your hardware compatibility list which you will find under Start>Programs>accessories>compatibility wizard.

My LCD power light flashes orange and screen is blank and there is afaint ticking noise coming from the monitor. Can anyone help?

Due to still having a power light you can bet the power supply is still fine.
The problem will be in the inverter circuit, but more to the point it's actualy one of the CCFL tubes that has blown.
They can be easy to replace, they can also be a complete nightmare.
Hope that helps =)
