Question about Samsung HP-S5073 50 in. Plasma HDTV
I have a Samsung HP-S5073 plasma that is about 3 years old. Just recently the picture intermittently started going black although the audio is fine. Definitely a heat issue as when it is allowed to cool the picture returns. It is getting increasingly worse. I read somewhere that it may be the Y sustain board. How to determine if it is the one board and no others?
Usually both boards are involved and unlike PC's board swapping is not the best way to fix it as they need to be setup correctly and tuned. This involves using a device that create a hatch pattern and the convergence is aligned to manufacturers specs.
There are other components that may also be involve and needd replacing ( like capacitors etc)
Those that have attempted to DIY are still here trying to find out how to fix them Often they burn them out trying to save themselves a repairman cost. If it was that easy we wouldnt have to spend 3 years learning the trade. But some people can't be told
please rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA
