Question about HP LC4776N 47 in. LCD HDTV

2 Answers

47" HP with a lightly fuzzy picture.

I have a 47 inch HP, not sure of the model number. The picture has some light fuzz to it. I have changed cable companies and the problem has persisted so it is definitely the set and not the service. What would cause this problem?

Ok above is a training manual, this will give you an insight into how it works and what to do. It sounds like you have "Focus" problems, this is usually, because something has gone bad, in the High tension section, of either the PSU, or LCD inverter.
it is nearly always my professional opinion that one should always get a "Quote" from the manufacturers recommended service center, I cannot stress how important that last point is. It is even worth the cost of shipping. you see an authorised service agent, will have trained staff, trained on their brand, also they have first hand access to parts, original parts. This will actually save you money and ensure you can actually get it back fixed. Of course asking for a "Quote" also gives on the option of repair or replace. Often my clients,do not go through with repair, unless it is moderate, but in some of the more costly jobs they see it, as do i, that a replacement, with a warranty, is a better option. As an aside here, one could then tear the TV down, and sell the Known Good bits. You'd be surprised who needs parts, i myself often must by from third party sources to effect a repair. So money could be recouped, somewhat, and help out someone else

The red light merely indicates power is getting to your TV. There may be an open internal fuse or power supply failure.

If any cameras on night vision the pic soo fuzzy u cant see, NV off it goes back to visible?

At night can you see the red led's ? If not they are not working. Make sure in camera settins if there is a option to enable night vision. If you mean at night it is fuzzy cloudy then it could be led's are bouncing light back creating a hazy whitish image. Or lens is dirty on the inside which it happens. Last is low end low quality cameras

Sharp tv won't display cable picture (it only shows fuzz) but the netflix and DVD both work. The cable says no input service available. I am able to change the channel on the cable box, but on the tv

Your cable box might not be sending signal out to the tv. Would have to call service provider to have them test your box. Or, you can try unplugging your cable box, and then plugging it back in. Make sure all connections are secure and settings on your tv are accurate. 11_13_2013_3_31_52_pm.png

Changed the lcd screen but all i have is a white screen

1) Loose connection of the Video Cable TO the motherboard, and/or TO the back of the LCD screen.

Can easily happen when reassembling.
(If you can't reuse the sticky tape on the back of the LCD screen, that holds the Video Cable to it, use more tape )

2) Incompatible LCD screen.
MATCH up the manufacturer's numbers on the back of the old LCD screen, to the new one.

They MUST crossover, and match up, if they are two different LCD screen manufacturers.

The screen Inverter is MATCHED to the LCD screen, also.

Matching up the Model Number, (Product Number for HP), may not be all the info you need.
Matching the numbers off of the old screen, for the new one, is.

Under the red heading - Find Your Spare Parts - click on the blue Down Arrow to the right of the - Choose Model - box.
What Model is yours?

Write down the manufacturer and product ID number.
Now go to the far upper left of the page. In the box under - Part Number Search, type the letter/numbers for your old LCD screen.

On the page that comes up. Do they match?
Putting the letter/numbers in for the LCD screen you just purchased.
Do they match?

IF the old LCD screen works at all, reconnect it, and see if it works.
If so the LCD screen you purchased does not.

3) Make SURE the screen Inverter cables (Wires) are connected tightly.

[ Check the connection of the Video Cable to motherboard first.
Then the Inverters wires, then the Video Cable connection at the back of the LCD screen ]

Primer:
An LCD screen cannot produce light. It needs an additional light source.
A Backlight is the additional light source.

A Backlight can be a CCFL or a series of LED lights

The HP Mini 1000 series of Netbook PC's uses a CCFL.
Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp.

Similar to Fluorescent lighting used in homes, and businesses, but on a MUCH smaller scale.

OR a series of LED lights. Depends on the model. (8.9 inch LCD screen models usually use CCFL. 10.1 models usually use LED lights)

A screen Inverter (FL Inverter) is used to convert power from the laptop, for the Backlight, and LCD screen.

Make sure there is 6 Volts DC power going through the Inverter.

[ NOTE*
90 PERCENT OF THE TIME the fault is the Inverter ]

Philips 47-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV - model 47PFL3603D - worked great until we tried to move it - it was bumped very lightly, and the picture now only shows 1/2 the screen

There are two ribbon cables at the top centre of the display, if one is loose, you will only have half a screen. When taking a small bump the cable has become loose. Check the ribbon cables and connections.

My Vizio 42in. is really fuzzy

If the picture is clear when using a DVD and remains "fuzzy" only with cable, then either the cable is bad or the up-conmvert from standard def to Hidef is creating the "fuzz". Depending upon the method used by the set to perform the "up-convert", the noise you are seeing may be normal.
