Question about Acer Computers & Internet
TravelMate 5610, Windows XP. Hi! My TravelMate shuts down the screen randomly. There is a little mechanical switch to the left of the right joint between keyboard and screen. When the incident occurs and my laptop switches off the screen, I can try and manually push that switch with a pencil or biro. After release, the screen lightens up for a few seconds and then goes dark again. It seems like it's not completely switched off, as you can see the Windows desktop pattern very dimmly, when you darken the room. However, it's impossible to make out where the mouse is. I read that others had similar problems and could solve them with swapping RAM chips, but it didn't do it for me. Any suggestions?
