A)
1. Disconnect the AC Adapter. 2. Remove the Battery. 3. Hold the Power button down for 30 seconds to 1 minute. 4. Reconnect the AC adapter and do NOT connect the battery now. 5. Turn on the Notebook power.
If no luck, remove and reseat the Hard Disk and RAM module.
Memory Module Page No: 97 of 258 NOTE: If you have more than one memory module, you should test them individually to determine if one or both of them are faulty. Insert each module separately, then turn on the notebook to determine if the inserted module is working. Once you have determined which memory module is faulty, you can replace the faulty module and reseat the working module.
I believe that would be the battery I would get a new battery that should solve the problem. When you use office or surf the internet that does not require as much power as playing games and watching videos. Just buy a new battery and that should solve the problem
It will recognize the new drive if you were able to "migrate" your data from the old drive. If not, you can clean install by booting from an optical drive (changing your boot order at start-up) and using a new OS disk or your recovery disks. You might be able to perform a remote partition & format and install from one drive to the other with USB external enclosures for each drive and another computer (depending on the 100G drive's condition). I hope this helps.
If the screen is coming on but is dim, it can be an lcd or an inverter problem.
If your getting absolutely no video then you need to try a few things. Take out the battery and only hook up the ac adaptor and make sure the light is at least coming on the ac adaptor so you know for a fact the adaptor is working. Then take out the memory and reinsert each memory stick one at a time and after each stick reinsertion turn on the laptop and see if you get video.
If you don't then take out the hard drive then try again turning on the laptop and then finally take out dvd drive. If your still not geting video then the motherboard is definitely bad.
Best Solution
Hewlett Packard Pavilion 503w Memory
Maximum Memory
2GB
Memory Slots
to 2 Slots.
non-removable base memory
0MB
Your HP Memory Pavilion 503w only supports modules made with a specific type of chip build. If you come across a website and find what seems to be the exact same memory for a lower price, it is likely that the cheaper memory will not work in your system.

have you recently loaded any new hardware or software to the system. if so... this may be the source of the problem. you would want to load in safe mode and remove whatever you changed. that would then fix the problem. i wouldn't jump to the conclusion that your operating system is corrupt just yet. it sounds as though it is doing exactly what it should when it comes upon a conflict in the system.
