Question about Fisher and Paykel DE06 Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Stops drying after short time

My new Fisher Paykel dryer does not go through a full cycle without turning off. Bought dryer at Sears and had a repairman out for a service call. He recommended replacing the vent hose to a hard line type instead of the flexline that we had. Dryer works if not vented outside, if you let it vent freely into the house. Too hot for that to be an option. I replaced the venting system to a adjustable hard line made for dryers and it is not working!

I'm no expert. In fact I was having the same issue that your are with the dryer cutting off after running a short time and after googling and coming across your post I thought maybe I had a similar issue. Not so much that I needed a hard line but that the vent duct was clogged and so the dryer built up too much heat. I undid the vent hose and looked into the vent pipe and sure enough it was full of old lint. I was able to go under my house and undo the vent pipe and **** it out with a Webster cobweb brush. Not real easy but not to difficult either. The dryer seems to me much happier now.

Dryer timer not working

Cycle the dryer without the vent on, if there is a clog in the vent from the back of the dryer to the outside the dryer doesn't think the clothes are getting dry so it won't time down, If it times down without the vent on then you know the dryer is fine and its just an obstruction in the wall vent line. If it still doesn't advance depending on which cycle it is it could be a thermostat or the timer it's self.

Fisher & Paykel Auto Sensor Dryer stops & beeps constantly

Hi emkboyce

my Fisher Paykel auto sensor dryer keeps stopping and beeping, i have to stop it and and re start.

I had the same problem. I took it off the wall and vacuumed up all the lint from everywhere including around the back and including taking off the back and vacuuming everything I could reach inside. I then used a damp cloth to get rid of the rest of the lint/dust.

I thought I was wasting my time but guess what, the problem has gone.

Good luck!

My ge wont dry clothes it takes 2 hours

Check the exhaust duct. It's best to have a short run and no obstructions. It's also possible that a heating element could have been damaged in the move.

Fisher and Paykel DEGX1 Electric Dryer Stays Warm

Yes, get a new element. The reason it's on all the time is because the element coils have broken and one of the coils is touching the canister that encloses it. This creates a direct short to ground. By the way, the element has 120 volts to it all the time. It will only HEAT when 240 is applied through the centrifugal switch of the motor. Your 120 volts is shorting to ground... not enough amps to trip the circuit breaker, but enough to glow the element.
