The lens on my camera is white. When I take a picture the picture is purple and there are line breaks in it but when I load a memory card from another camera I can see them clear as day so I know that the problem is not with the camera it is with the lens. Can you tell me how to fix this problem or if the lens can be replaced at a resonable price. Thanks

Go to the camera's "setup menu" and scroll down to the last option, "move images to card" That should put the images onto the memory card.

Panasonic lumix tz8 takes white photos

Some symptoms of a defective CCD include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines, blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card.

A CCD problem would explain the lines on your pictures and the lines on the LCD (since the CCD is used to feed the live image). CCD (Charge Coupled Device) is one of the two main types of image sensors used in digital cameras.

When a picture is taken, the CCD is struck by light coming through the camera's lens. Each of the thousands or millions of tiny pixels that make up the CCD convert this light into electrons. The number of electrons, usually described as the pixel's accumulated charge, is measured, then converted to a digital value. This last step occurs outside the CCD, in a camera component called an analog-to-digital converter.

In order to correct this issue, the repair facility needs to replace the CCD. This is not something you may do on your own; check this article for additional details:Bad CCDs. This, isn't a good new, but hope helps to solve it.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

My fuji s7000 zoom has coloured wavey lines when turned on. It goes back to normal intermitantly but at the moment it is constant Ian

Hi Ian.

If the lines are reproduced in the pictures taken, then the image sensor located behind the lens is starting to fail. The problem will usually get progressively worse until you won't be able to shoot regular pictures anymore.

Call Fuji and ask about repair. You can get a quote from a third party here: Repair.

Shots are either light or white outdoors

Probably the shutter flexcable burried in the lensblock is broken, have it replaced or change whole lensblock, labor intensive ,technical skill required .
Reason: lens movements wears out the flex cable and breaks, shutter inoperative ,pictures are white outdoors ,video OK ,horizontal lines showing as blinds.
Parts are available at ebay.Better have it serviced.

My friends have justcome back from malta and a quarter of their pictures have blocks of blue green pink white colour either at the top of the picture the middle or he bottom ot their is a line breaking up...

I would suspect from what you are describing that your friends are experiencing what is called lens flare. Lens flare is caused by pointing the camera either directly into the sun or point of light or at an angle to a point of light. The FinePix S100fd is an amazing small powerful travel camera what it lacks is a lens hood which prevents or helps prevent stray light from hitting the lens at an angle. I'm sure there will be a "kit" for adding this feature also because the lens recesses into the barrel installing filters may be tricky as well the "kit" may offer this option as well.

Photos taken on zoom have white horizontal lines across them. Photos taken at normal zoom are OK.

Hi!
It sounds like that the shutter cable inside lens is partially broken. It moves with the lens while it zooms, so it could loose contact while stretched - when you have zoomed the lens. Z750 and Z850 have this problem with shutter cable - it breaks. The white horizontal lines are because shutter doesn't work. I'm afraid the cable will brake soon and pictures will be too bright with white horizontal lines even at normal zoom. It is considered a hard repair - the shutter part or whole lens unit has to be changed. You can contact your local Casio service center and ask the price, but it will probably be very high. I work in a Casio service center and new lens for this camera costs about 250$. It's not a good idea to put on used lens or shutter, as it will brake again sometime - it's just a matter of time. I suggest you get another camera.

Hope this helps!
