Sorry about your Steelers.

I am currently pulling my washer apart again. This is the third time in about 5 years. Twice before I found pennies in the short black tube between the pump and the gray divert valve. I call it my 31 cent problem as the first time it was three dimes and a penny. I recommend turning the pump by hand. If it is turning freely, then I would squeeze the hose to see if you can feel anything inside. The tube is easy to remove and check as well, but any water is going to drain out on your floor. In my case I did not find any issue, put it all back together and it is running fine. Cross your fingers for me.

Our a/c-heat pump unit was replaced for our home. This unit throws hot air in the summer and cold air during the winter. We have called service techs numerous times and no one seems to find the issue....

The issue is with the thermostat wiring. Depending on the heatpump, the Y1 wire is used to start the compressor, usually in the heating mode and the O wire operates the reversing valve, to bring on cooling. The crossed wire could be at the thermostat or at the unit. You likely have had techs that have little or no heat pump experience, this is a simple issue. Locate a good heat pump tech and have him/her fix it. Document the repair and send a demand for repayment from the ones that have been out. They need the education such a bill will bring them

Haier model hr36civar heat pump unit . only need work ac please .

All but one heat pump energizes the Reversing valve in cool. Rheem-Ruud-Weatherking. You need to have power to the reversing valve for coolong. Just energize the valve from inside. Send one power wire out just for the Valve and use the ground or blue coming back. Rus

Heat pump

What type of furnace? strip heat....gas... I would check the reversing valve.Run the unit in cooling have someone switch the stat to call for heat....."Whooosh!!!" the reversing valve will switch over.Other methods of switching the valve , remove one wire, remove the nut and slide the solenoid off the valve will reverse. The switching solenoid can be checked magnetically by using a small screwdriver. Switch from cool to heat or heat to cool this way you can check if the valve is getting a signal .
Heat pumps are a fairly complicated simple device..... sometimes just switching the valve back and forth a couple times gets it unstuck. Remember air coming from the duct will feel cooler than air from a gas furnace .
Most customers don't think they are working when they really are. 100 degree heat is not that hot to 98.6 degree person who is used to 120 degree gas heat!
