Hello can you do a couple of checks for me. First feel the copper lines on the outside of unit and tell me is the small line hot? And is the Big line cool to the touch?

With the outside unit running place your hand over the fan. The air from the fan should feel warmer than the outdoor air. You said in one of your comments the big line felt cool. It should be like a drink can you just pulled out of a cooler of ice. The small line you said was warm. It should be closer to hot. Are you sure the compressor is running? It can be hard to hear over the fan noise. If you or someone there can turn off the power then disconnect one of the fan wires so it doesn't run then turn the power back on and set the thermostat to call for cooling and see if the compressor is actually running. Let me know what you find or let me know if you aren't sure about disconnecting wires.

While running, feel the bigger pipe outside, under the black insulation. If it is cold to the touch and if condensation is building up on it, that is a good indicator that it is properly charged. If it is warm, and you can hear the compressor running (humming noise while outdoor fan is running), that is a good sign that the unit is undercharged. The only way the unit is under charged is there is a leak somewhere. Do not let anyone tell you that the refrigerant needs to be swapped, or has gone bad, or just needs to be "topped off". The system should be perfectly sealed, and without leaks. First, I would check to see if the outdoor unit is running with the indoor unit. Then I would check the big pipe to see if it is cold. Hope this helps.

My LG unit starts fine and cools but the fan runs at hi speed only and I cannot select any other speed although I hear a beep when they are seleted

In Auto mode, and jet cool or fast cool (if option is there in your remote), you can't change speed. Keep cool mode and then press fan again and again still you get required speed. Suppose, as you said beep sound is there when you select speed, check related speed terminal in PCB. If power is there, winding open in motor. If no power, replace/repair PCB. Thanks and hope it's helpful.

Radiator fan not stopping even when i turn off the car and remove the keys. this is leading to battery drain

Radiator fan is supposed to start working after the temp reaches a certain limit. And it is supposed to run til the temp reaches a certain lower limit. So when you switch off the engine and walk off the fans must be running to cool the water to that lower limit. Unless you seen that it runs well past that and does not stop at all. Does it start running when you start the engine? And runs throughout the time the car is running, which it should not. The relay seems to be out. It is this relay that controls the running of the fan. or the temp gauge. If the temp gauge is giving wrong temp then the relay has to keep working. Please check both, the relay and before that the temp gauge.

Does the unit suppose to retain the water?

No. The unit is not supposed to retain water. By product of a/c or
refridgeration is water due to air being cooled below dew point of air.
(Check your uninsulated cold water pipes on a hot, humid day. They
are usually sweating.) The tubing should be routed to drain or outdoors.

Ac units in apt. is fully charged, but it blows cool to cold air and will constantly run all day with out shutting off. at night when it cools off outside it will run like its supposed to. the fan unit...

Your ac thermostat is defective and not switching off the compressor resulting in excess cooling and need replacement. Also ensure that all doors and windows are closed. Could be some window is opened behind the curtain without your knowledge. That could be yet another reason for your unit continuously running.
Finally check your relay unit and this should solve your problem!

DOOR JAM BETWEEN FREEZER AND FRIDGE IS GETTING HOT

This usually means that your condenser fan has stopped. That's the fan outisde (under or in back of) the fridge. It should be running whenever the compressor runs. Heavy accumulation of dust or anything that obstructs airflow could also cause it. But the most likely culprit is the fan.

Hamilton Beach 87330 water dispenser: no auto shut off

Glen,
We purchaced this water dispencer about 2 years ago, everything was working normal, water heater works fine and the cooler would come on and go off normally, until you dispenced cold water and then the coller would cool down and shut of like it's supposed to.
Afetr a couple of years , one day it started cooling continuously and wouldn't stop, I've just shut the cooler switch off on the back of the unit until i can figure the problem out, unit #(87330).
I believe the problem is in the circuit control board, but with out further testing i can't be sure .

The cooling fan keeps running even when the car is shut off. It keeps running until the battery gives out.

The fan is suppose to run until engine cools off. If battery drains before cooling down a good place to start is a weak battrey

Fedders Window unit

The capacitor's for running, too. The resistor across the capacitor is supposed to be warm but not hotter than boiling. Just disconnect the capacitor and check for a short if you suspect it; but it would be warm someplace.
The timer unit is usually reliable, but if it permits a thermal cutout after 5 min. and the cutout device is a little skittish, it could be either that cutout or a hot-side cutout (or thermostat) failure. Replace, don't bypass.
