John Deere 310 A Hydralic problems

I have a John deere 310A back hoe loader, I do not seem to be getting enough hydralic fluid through the pump form the transmision valave, I do not get any return to the cooler from the transmision valve I took the valave apart and am going to replace all of the gaskets in the valave, Do I need to replace the transmision pump that feeds the transmision valve several pepole have told me that there is an internal pump in the transmision that needs to be repalced is it the transmision pump.
I also know that the main pump works fine when I feed the return line from the cooler to the pump with fluid everything works great. Do I need to replace transmision pump? to fix the hydralic problem also is it easier to do by removing the cover on the transmision?

J deere 310 leaks between the hydraulic filters there is silonoid between them

Wipe down and clean the filter, filter housing and hydralic lines, run your jd until you see hydraulic fluid, stop the machine and look to see where it originated from... If it's from the filter, change the filter, make sure the old oil rings are no stuck on the housing, and there's a o ring that comes on the new filter, pre lube the filter o-ring and install,,, if it the hydralic housing or pump, check for hair line cracks, check the threads on the filter head on the housing for cross threading, and last but not least and the greatest possibility... The hydraulic line connections to the filter housings and pump... The will most likely be the issue... Spray brake cleaner all over the connections to clean them run the machine and look to see which one is leaking... When replacing the hose connections, replace with a quick connect hose end to save on value time and efforts in the future.

4020 john deere compact diesel. Lost hydraulics and do not know how to check fluid level. Worked good and just quit. Can not see any leaks??

I doubt that it is the fluid's been a few years... but I seem to remember there being a couple at the front of the motor that ran the hydralic pump...I am wondering if your problem is not there...tthe hydralic pump sits under the fuel tank at the front of the tractor... check there to see if everything is working right there...of course it could be the pump its self that has gone bad...
