Tripping off

All crt tvs will fail after a certain age because the electrolytic capacitors near the horizontal and vertical output transistors /(ic s) dry up with age. At this point you start having lines across your screen in even increments. At this point the voltages are swaying and components start having too much current or voltage getting to them until they blow. Often this takes out the voltage rectifier and or diodes and resistors in the power supply area. If the high voltage area overheats it can take out the flyback or the high voltage capacitor or burn traces on the circuit board etc. An adjustment on the flyback is only done to tune in the picture so that that lines don't show. There may also be a main ic or EPROM (erasable programmable read only memory) that can fail. Then there are x-ray protection circuits, or the thermistor that is supposed to fail in the event of a surge etc.

Sony kp-51ws500 will not come on

Next to FBT flyback transfomer near the Hori output transistor is a high voltage capacitor 2k v check it it feeds to the output transistor and if it is bad high voltage will not come up.

PT-47WX49 Panasonic TV turns on, then immediately shuts off? Is this a fuse or capacitor that I can replace? Is there something to reset?

Look over around the FBT flyback transfomer coming from hori out put Transistor is a Blue capacitor 2K volt they will somtimes burn with a xmall hole on them if it is bad high voltage will not come up and stay on Call Mats for Part 1-800-628-1118 resolder all poor connections even where the Yoke plugins are which are near the FBT & hori output Transistor.

Akai 25'' TV no power from SMPS. voltage available up to filter capacitor. No smps output. smps power transistor ok. Please responce nagarajak60@yahoo.com

try to check its high voltage section for axed HOT or flyback. Also check its regulator. Maybe start up resistor or check the chopper circuit. You should at least have an standby voltage on the secondary side.

Tv is not wrking

First, locate the horizontal output transistor. This is found very close to, or next to, the horizontal output transformer (also known as the flyback). The flyback should be on an aluminum heat sink, or on the side of the metal chassis. Disconnect or unsolder two of the three legs of the transistor. Measure it with your meter, or plug in the set with the light bulb attached across the fuse.
If the transistor is shorted, or the light bulb doesn’t glow bright anymore, replace the transistor and plug back in. If the light bulb glows bright again, you must replace both the flyback and horizontal output transistor simultaneously. In some cases this will fix the set, but sometimes there are multiple problems with a set.
Go to where the flyback is, and start measuring the diodes and capacitors on the flyback itself. If you don't find any shorts there, it could be a shorted vertical output IC, a shorted sound IC, a shorted disc capacitor in the Hi Voltage/sweep circuit, or in rare cases, a shorted capacitor or tuner.Feel free to ask and post whatever the result of your troubleshooting..

Hope this may help;

Monitor horizontal adjust no function

It is the problem of horizantal section.Check horizantan hold transistor that is placed on hitsink of eht and two small transistors near iton pcb.and check horizantal yoke coil pins for dry soldring or low voltages.If thats are ok then change hori. &ver. deflection ic.
Hope this solution works.i am always for you

Horizontal output transistor keeps failing

The horizontal output transitor is always connected to the primary winding of the flyback transformer (via collector) and also to the horizontal deflection coil via an electrolytic capacitor. The most likely suspect for damaging the transistor is the fylback transformer. In some countries there are electronic stores that test flyback transformer by winding a few turns on the ferrite core and applying a test voltage. This test will only test the secondary. The primary winding is difficult to test for turn to turn short because the resistance is quite low and you do not know the 'good' resistance.
