I have the same problem too....I really haven't used the steam cleaner a lot over the years....it is very irritating. I looked on the hoover website to see if I can replace the clean water tank and it is sold out, so Im guessing this is common problem.

I have had this problem twice with my Hoover Steam Vac and would not buy another one of this model because of it. My prior Hoover Steam vacs have been great but I am terribly disappointed with Hoover because of my difficulties (which I understand from the repair people are common) with this particular model.

Hoover does not sell the part to fix it - Instead you must buy a whole new canister for around $50.00. Bummer - I spent the first $50 to fix it a couple of years ago and now it is broken again -!

Machine's on board Fluid containers have rubber stoppers with valves that open when it the container is put in place on the machine. The container may be broken around the rubber stopper. The container may need to be replaced.

MOST COMMON PROBLEM IS THE ATTACHEMENT VALVE IS BROKEN WHERE YOU CONNECT FOR WATER ON SIDE OF MACHINE. THESE MODELS USE AN ELECRONIC SOLONOID TO ACTIVATE WATER TO NOZZLE IF IT IS COMING OUT THERE SOLONOID MAY BE BAD

I have a Hoover Steam Vac Dual Model # F7426-900. The nozzle and spring from the bottom of the soap dispenser popped out. Can this be fixed?

You will need a new valve assembly. ( part # 43513014, msrp $3.62 ) Place the rubber seal in first, then wet the valve and push it in with your thumb.

My Hoover steam vac dual v clean water and detergent tank leaks water before attached to the vac and during cleaning

This is a common problem with the earlier models which had a separate soap tank glued to the clean water tank. The plastic was too thin beneath the valve on the clean water side and would develop cracks. You most likely will need a new one piece tank. ( Part # 42272104)

Hoover steam vac dual v carpet cleaner has stopped dispensing soap. Water is still flowing fine

You probably have a solenoid valve which has failed and will not open. This will require replacement of the valve. For temporary use you can mix a soap solution and put it in the rinse tank. The correct mix is 5 ounces of Hoover shampoo to a gallon of hot water.

Using my hoover steam vac tonight and too much water coming out. once it's turned on, water and shampoo continuously come out underneath until tanks are empty. looks to be leaking from left side bottom as...

make sure that you have filled everthing properly and the hoover steam is in a good condition. or check else is there any loose coonections in the bottom of the hoover, which makes the tank empty.
if the problem persists take it to service.

Hoover Steam Vac V2 Deep Cleaner leaking clean water

Fill the tank and determine if the plastic is leaking, or if the valves are leaking. if the tank is cracked, it would need replaced. There is an improved design now available.

You may cycle the valves on the bottom with the eraser end of a pencil.

Automatic "shut off" not turning off

Check the filter in the tank, if a dual V model you will have a screen, if not a dual V move the foam filter down about 1/4" to help. The lid on either model needs to be securely in place, as well as locking the left and right latches. On the Dual V model, check the hose door on the front.

Hoover Steam Vac Spin Scrub Carpet Cleaner won't...
Posted by hoofbeats1 on Jul 01, 2008
My machine is a little more than a year old. I have used it about 5 times. It started leaking the third time I used it. The fourth time I took it out, the brushes would not spin (I did clean them and rinse them after use each time).
Now the engine screams and won't **** anything up. Do you have any suggestions? My last Hoover Steam Vac was great and lasted for 3 years! Hi,
I have a Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 that the brushes won't spin. The lint screen is clean & the brushes switch is in the on position.
It dispenses & sucks up the cleaning solution & water; just no brush action. Help

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The only thing that I can recommend is that you may have a bad switch, some vacs may have a broken belt or the drive mechanism inside the Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 in or by the brush assm section and is need of repair. Please check the trouble shooting section of the owner’s manual if you’re needing help and to save money. If you don’t have one then contact the Hoover factory cust serv. So, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
