Is the home theater system attached to the TV through the audio out points or is it attached to the sky +/tivo/satalight box

i belive you have attached it to the satalight box

on the back of your tv look for a audio out jack and attach the home theater to that

Does the JVC AV-56P776 have any kind of lock out on it went thru setup it plays dvd's but not regular tv

if plays DVDs via rear connections what have you got hooked to it for regular tv reception? Hooked to the coax fitting, using antenna or cable or sat with a box or not?

Good news is if it works with DVD set is likely ok and you have some other issue----just need some more information to decide what that issue is.

I pressed the hd option in the set up menu and the screen went blank and a message no signal came up. any suggestions

First please excuse my english...I had the same problem and manage to fix it. Just remember that nothing is broken, the problem is you dont see what you are doing. First unplug your nbox and remove sd card or usb disk. then folow thease step. 1-plug the unit and press power. It is not possible to know if the unite is on... 2-press enter 3-press the down arrow 7 times 4-press enter 5- press left arrow 6- press enter. if it dont work try again and again. You have to undo what you did and put the unite back on the good setings. good luck

Make sure the Component AV Cable is connected to the AV Multi Out port on the back of the PLAYSTATION 3 system. Connect the other end of the Component AV Cable into the video and audio RCA jacks of the TV or display monitor.

2. While the PLAYSTATION 3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the system goes into standby mode again . (So the light cycle would go from: red light to --> green light --> then back to red light) This will ensure that you have held down the ON/OFF button long enough to reset the Video Output Settings.

3. Turn on the PLAYSTATION 3 system and once the system finishes powering up, the Video Output Settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your TV/monitor).

Bad cable probably. As you are going through direct connection ie AV I would be looking at either the cable or more probably are you connect to the correct AV video out put from the DVD?
